hey i have a question for you guys..i just moved into a gated townhouse community and i want to know if any of you live in a place like this..how do you wash your car?? i dont have an outdoor water supply and i havent been able to wash my car in a month :knockout: when i lived with my parents it was easy to run the hose and wash but now i cant seem to figure it out..do i fill buckets from the water inside? since im spending $70+ weekly in gas i dont want to cough up the extra $25 to have it washed by someone weekly...plus i like doing it myself because i can take my time and really detail it good..any thoughts or suggestions?

Some of the complexes I've lived in had a designated "Car Wash Area" with a hose available... If you don't have that, then you'll have to go to the car wash places that take your quarters, or go to a friend's house.

(Where's a14umbra...?) Have you tried DriWash?

i'm not sure about the communal hose but i'll have to take a drive around and look or just ask the people that work there..DriWash? no i've never used it before..is it good?

Yeah, most places like that around here have one outdoor faucet for that purpose.

You could just run it thru the carwash (as long as it's touchless), and then wipe it down and detail it. That's what I do 90% of the time. Two years, and my paint & wax are still awesome, and I have zero swirl marks!! I could wash it myself, but I'm just too lazy most of the time--it's all I can do to wipe her down and detail her a couple times a week.

I live in an appt complex and have had my Charger for 1 year (today :D ) and my car has yet to see a car wash other than the computerized, completely water-only, car wash .... drive in, sit in one spot while the car gets washed, then slowly drive out as it blows air at you trying to dry off the car (does a half-decent job) ... whatever's left I wipe off using some microfiber towels and PoorBoy's Spray 'n' Wipe detailing spray ... comes out very nice .. there are a few threads on here with pics after the above was done .. :D

where i useto live never had a any water supply outside for me. so i ran a hose from my cold water supply off my washer machine to the car outside. in my case the fittings where the same so had no problem.

I think with the "driwash" you still have to pre-rinse your car.... If there is no communal fountain of cleanliness in your neighborhood go to lowe's and get a faucet/hose adaptor... they can be found to adapt a certain type of clog removal device to a nearby faucet instead of bringing the hose from outside... They would probably do the trick though your neighbors would either be jealous or look at you with scorn from behind the wheel of their Prius.

Yup, that's my routine at the Miller Mart!!

I use to wait till it rained. Then I would put my board shorts on and wash my car. This also good for keeping your neighbors far away from you.
