Okay, I'm in on the GB for the headlight rings...but I'm thinking of getting the tail lights too....how easy are they to install? Do they wire into the the parking light switch also so they only come on with the headlight halos when the parking lights are turned on?

I figured if your going to do the front, might as well to the tails too right?

I'm still not sure how the tail light's plug into the switch for the parking lights, there are a lot of wires in the plug and I'm not sure which one is which even by looking at the pictures....lol.

Well I found I have a broken light for my tail-lights but it doesn't matter because....

...I still have no clue on where or how to plug these into my wiring harness for my taillights. I unclip the plug and there are five wires going into the plug, which ones are the freaking parking lights??? :knockout:

On the tails there is a plug with 2 wires that goes to the parking light on the side of the tail (tap that one)

If you have the reverse strips tap the 2 wires that go to the reverse bulb. They are easy to spot, even with the jumbles mess of wires behind the taillights (dont let that overwhelm you)

Mount the inverters behind the tails (between the body panel and taillight) there will not be enough wire to get them into the car.

Yea only if they are waterproof. Mine were supposed to be, and as soon as they got wet, one stopped working. Once it dried out, it started working. I then put them inside the car. The wires are very short, but it can be done.

I would agree with you HAWK, the wires are very short, and the fact is, the inverters are not waterproof. I extended my wires and placed the inverters inside the trunk. If you recall, for those of you who haven't found it........ here's the link to the step by step "HOW-TO" that I did for the tail Halo's:

What do you do with the Black and white/purple wire? Connect them?

Hawk, not sure how long ago your order was but the inverters now come with insulating heat shrink to put over the connections. This eliminates that short period of not working when they get lots of water on them.

Well I live in Washington and we get plenty of water...should I be worried about placement of inverters or waterproof them a little bit more than Charger bro's/sis's in warmer and dryer climates?

Just use the included heat shrink, you will be fine!

Splatt ... did you put your tail lights in the oven to open them?
If so, do you recall the time and what you set the oven at?

Thanks BPD, it was actually your walkthru I used to get all this done so my hats off to you sir. :rocker:

Sandt, yes I put them in the oven...you have to to get them open. I set my oven at 220 degrees and put them in for about 20-25 minutes. Then TAKE YOUR TIME opening them...however the expoxy dries again quickly so don't take too much time...lol.

Thank you, thank you....:D

Headlights are my Sunday project...hehehe.

IMO the heads are actually easier. More labor involved since you have to remove the entire front end...... but the assemblies are 10, no wait.... 20 times easier to separate (after-baking) than the tails. Since you obviously "sailed" through the tails install....... the heads should be a breeze!

Good luck and be sure to post pics! --------MIKE

Wow ... that's a long time. I set our oven to 210 and left one in for 12 minutes and it warped.

You should always place the assembly at the bottom most portion / rack of the oven. If you had done this, you should not have experienced any warping whatsoever.

Why? Because, like the rest of you engine bay, and any parts that are associated with it, they are designed to handle those temps cuz you're engine is running (in most cases) and radiating those same temps (210+). Even slightly more so in warmer climates and/or summer months.

If you placed your assembly in the middle or close to the top, then yeah, ouch, not good. Take out all of the racks in the oven, and only leave in one of 'em, position it at the very bottom most slot next time around......

Dude that sucks! Sorry to hear about the warping...like BPD said I made sure to set the oven racks way down low and with the outside facing up. And in fact my first one went in for 20 minutes and was harder to open than the second one that went in for 25.

SilverB, don't be intimidated....it was pretty easy once I got going on it, it was the wiring that took most of the time. I was intimidated at first too but once it was done it was well worth the work!

I need to get me a set of these. Also want to get my tails tinted and painted as well. Should I get them tinted and painted first? or halos first? I haven't seen anybody that has done both of these yet......

Search for Mecha's car on here...He has a Sublime with tinted/painted tails and newly-installed halos.

Thanks for the replied gentlemen. There is really only room in the oven for the lights to be placed on the bottom rack. I did nothing different then when I did the headlights. I was going to buy just another driver's side light, but I think I will get both lights and try the passenger side. If that goes wonky, I can still have a set of non-warped lights. lol
