Im thinking about going aftermarket with my audio system. I have a few questions reguarding installing an aftermarket CD deck.

1) If I dont get the harness that keeps the steering wheel controls for audio functions, will they still work for evic and advnaced evic (since the music note button is required to get to advanced evic)

2) On radios that say Sirus sat ready, would my current OEM Sirus stuff work or is additional items needed?

3) Until I get aftermarket interior speakers......would I be able to use the aftermarket CD player with my current Kicker speaker upgrade and mopar kicker 327w digital amp?

Thanks

Im thinking about a new 08 model pioneer premier deh-980BT, then later down the road replacing the dash speakers / door speakers / and rear deck speakers with inifity kappas, and adding subs

1. No

2. No, Additional items are needed

3. yes, but your harness will bypass your amp and it will run off the deck.

To get the Sirius to work, you will need to get a new tuner and have the service transferred. If you want to use the factory antenna, you will need to run an antenna extension from the trunk to the new tuner.

Chargeron24s,
Let me know if you are intrested in selling the factory harness if you go aftermarket. I installed factory nav and kicker speakers. I have a base model so I knew I didn't have an amp and I would need a jumper from the nav to the 368 amp but none are available?. Confrimed with two Stealers and JEff @ Moparsupercenter.com who said an amp kit for base models are on the way but who knows when. Right now I'm going direct no amp and it still sounds really good way better then base but I know it will rock with the amp.

Im thinking of doing the same and had the same question as number 1, so if i was to get the extra $120 cable to use the steering wheel controls will everything run the same with evic?
