just installed a new amp, whenever i turn on the car and the radio powers on the bass hits loud once or twice. the first amp i had also did this but i forgot what i did to make it stop. i checked all the wiring and i ran the remote wire straight to the radio power.

did you run the remote on wire from the fuse block in the trunk or under the hood? I had one back in the day that did that due to interference from the rest of the car and some sh!tty RCA cables. Does it do it everytime you turn the radio on? Or only when you start the car and the radio comes on?

i had to use my cigarette lighter power to power my cd player. so i ran the remote from the trunk up to the same wire and have the cd/remote/cig power all wired 2gether. same way i had my old amp but i dont remember what i did 2 stop it? how else can i run the remote wire? and i also have crappy RCA cables.

This would be a bandaid fix, but... you could get an amp turn-on delay module and wire that in.

IMO thats not a bandaid fix; it will do as its intended. With a factory radio this is common. If you have an aftermarket; run the remote wire to the radios remote output wire. The amp is on with no signal for a split second before the radio and thats what causes the problem. Turn the radio completlyoff and see what happens. ;)

not to completely hijack this thread... but to completely hijack this thread... can you run the remote wire from the fuse box in the trunk? I'm thinking of putting a sub back there.

The common mistake made by most people tapping into fuses is they install it on the wrong side. Fuses are only protected on one side of that circuit. remove the fuse and see which side has no power with fuse pulled. Thats the side that will have protection from the fuse when reinstalled. However you still need to put it on a circuit that is powered on ly when the radio is on.

while you are correct, thats not gonna cause noise....

well ive ran the remote from both the radio power and the fuse box in trunk but still does it. like i was saying last time i fixed it without moving anything but cant recall what i had to 2. and the only thing i really seen anyone suggest is the amp-turn on delay

Yup! I jokingly told people my car had a heartbeat --- it beats twice when I open the doors and does it when I turn the ignition off --- I didn't think anything big of it --- so I just decided to have some fun with it.
