I have a 2006 Charger with the rear seat Video Entertainment System. If I purchase the connector that plugs into the bottom of my ipod and has the rca jacks will I be able to use the steering wheel controls when plugged into the VES? I don't think I'd be able to. Nor do I think the iPod would charge, does it?
I asked this question in another post, but it wasn't quite on topic with where that post ended up going. Please help. I would like to avoid tapping into the Sattelite radio.

Smithinc49,
I'm using those inputs right now with my Zune. The only steering wheel control that works is the volume. You will still need to change songs with the controls on your iPod. One other shortcoming of the RCA inputs: unless you are also feeding a constant video signal to the yellow RCA jack, your volume will fade at the end of each song and the VES will "go to sleep", resulting in a choppy start to the next song. Also, the inputs will not provide a charge.
There are ways to make those inputs useful, but it isn't cheap. I did a slight variation on this theme for my Zune and I'm really happy with the results:
