Quick question about alarms, I'm a little confused.
The Charger I very recently leased is absolutely loaded to the nuts. MyGig with Nav, rear VES screen, dual zone climate, HIDs, sunroof, power adjustable passenger/driver seats, auto headlights, advanced EVIC, literally every feature you can get on a Charger R/T AWD is on this car...
Except an alarm!? I assumed that any Charger R/T is going to come with an alarm, but yet my alarm indicator LED on the dash doesn't blink, like it says it should "if equipped" in the manual.
Do you seriously have to order an alarm specifically? The MSRP on this car was $50,000 (I'm in Canada, inflated auto prices ftw). A $50,000 car that doesn't come with a friggen alarm?
Am I missing something?

Bump...
Anyone? I'm grasping at straws here. I know my Charger has the Electronics Convenience Group, because it has a fully functional advanced EVIC. All I've been able to find so far is that the alarm is included with the ECG, and you activate it by either locking using the FOB or locking with one of the front doors open using the button on the door. This doesn't "arm" the alarm for me.

I'm Sure it has an alarm if it has all the features you say it does. May just need to be activated. Ask your Dealer.

Activated eh, the alarm typically isn't activated as soon as the dealer receives it?
I'll ask the dealer tomorrow for sure.

roll your windows down, lock the doors with the remote, wait 3 minutes to be safe and then open the door from the inside of the vehicle see if the horn sounds. If so.....well Im sure you get it from here

I actually just got home from a quick drive to buy some cigarettes, and for the hell of it I decided to try the alarm.
While inside the vehicle, I locked the doors using the FOB, intending to wait a while then open the doors, to test the very same thing you were suggesting. However, before I got a chance, I noticed a red light blinking quickly on my gauge cluster. Sure enough, after about 20 seconds it started blinking slower. I opened the door, and the alarm went off.
As I said in my original post, I was looking on the dash where you'd find the alarm indicator on most vehicles, like my previous Grand Cherokees, not in the gauge cluster. I've never seen a vehicle before where the alarm indicator is in the gauge cluster rather than on top of the dash (under the windshield).
Is this the way on all Chargers? The only thing I could think of is they do it this way on the ones equipped with dual zone climate control to use the spot up on the dash for the sun load sensors instead.

If it's anything like the benz it came from, get in the car, hit lock on fob, wait 2 minutes... then open door. It should go crazy on you. If not probably no alarm. I think it still has the ignition killer if no alarm so better than nothing but yes, kinda strange.... unless someone took it out or disabled it between assembly and delivery....

BTW, on the same note, you may have to hit unlock then put key in ignition to get it to shut up again, that's what I had to do to my benz after testing it.
