Well if your 08 SE is like my 07 the rear seats don't fold down. If you need to take out the rear seats you have to unbolt them. Same with the rear speakers, and if you are on the rear deck with the carpet out and everything, go ahead and take out that acoustic matting over the factory 8" sub hole if you plan on putting in subs in the future. It will make a real difference in the sound, but leave it in if you aren't putting in subs because it keeps out road sounds.

ya its a pain in the ass. I am not sure if yours is the same as my 06 R/t but i have never in my life had to remove so much crap just to get to the rear speakers. You gotta take the whole bach seats out and all the side moldings that go along the back window, then take the cover off the top to unbolt the speakers. pan in the A$%, ever since i did mine my tint does not line up with the top moldings anymore. Good luck, though

I just dynamatted my rear deck this weekend and put in my 6-1/2" MTX components. Took my time to mount the crossovers under the rear deck and hide all the wires. Get in to enjoy my work...and they sounded horrible! I tossed in some Panasonic 3way 6x9s I had layin around and they were just as bad. I was messing w/ the fader and balance and it seems all our bass response comes from up front. I just tossed the stock speakers back in until I get my sub box built and install my amps.
I've heard everyone talk about the Boston and Kicker systems being crossed-over, but does that apply to us w/ the basic 4 ohm speaker setup too?
hernandez, do you have the 60/40 split seats?

what system is in your car and did you by mistake reverse the pos and neg wires on the speakers. that will kill bass responce fast. right rear speaker wire colors are dark green and brown + and yellow and gray - left rear is dark green and tan + and dark green and gray -

x2...................Same here SE+HO installed a set of eclipse 6x9 in my rear deck and they are horrible sounding but sound great in the vehicle they came out of. Played around with the fader but never was satisfied with them. Just using them for a little bit of fill for the rear for now but most likley going to just disconnect them and use my infinty componets and sub

one of the problems is that you guys are putting 4 ohm speakers in place of 2ohm stocks so the system wont play as well with the after market ones and most of the ones you all are putting in as replacements NEED more power to play right then the stock out put of the radio can push to them.

I replaced all my stock sound system, radio and all speakers. Even ran all new wiring to speakers. I also have seperate amps for componets, 6x9 and sub. Running the 6x9s with a mtx 2ch amp and the other amps are eclipses. Double checked the polarity and it seems to be ok. The stock 6x9s sounded better. Go figure?

Yes, I checked polarity on-line before wiring.. then confirmed using a Rear Fade, Left to Right Balance check. My window sticker says "AM/FM CD MP3 Radio" and it's the RES model. The 6x9's in the rear deck are both 4ohm, not 2ohm like you guys w/ the Boston or Kicker upgrades.
The reason I asked if this radio is crossed-over is because I'm wondering if I can just use an LOC or would I need something like the MTX ReQ5?
