Just picked up my 06 Charger SRT from the stereo shop. I had the all of the Kicker speakers replaced with Focals powered by a McIntosh MC440M. I kept the factory navigation head unit and bypassed the factory amp with a line level converter. Overall the system sounds incredible, but when I get a cell phone call UConnect answers but the head unit does NOT transmit the audio...

Anyone know how/why the UConnect signal would be passed differently then the audio signal?

Another piece of the puzzle, I did have an AUX line connected to the factory head for MP3 input (thus I have the VES option).

Thanks

It depends where you tapped into the factory harness...the u-connect only comes from the two dash speakers (with the boston acoustic system but its prob the same with the kicker) so if for some reason those arent tapped into you wont be getting the sound...I just grabbed a Peripheral CHYAA interface for $80, it plugs right in between the factory harness and the head unit and gives front and rear RCA outputs and it works fine with the U-connect

my guy called the engineers at Peripheral and they insisted that their product would not help with the UConnect problem.

their suggestion was to install a center speaker under the dash to the factory amp and some how feed the amp only the UConnect signal?

any one out there using the factory DVD/NAV head unit with an external amplifier and still have UConnect working?
