Anyone know a reputable dealer/shop that does excellent window tint jobs and to where I can get my 35%/20% done?

I am not familiar with that area, but do a search to see if you have a "LA Tint" shop. That is who I have used for all of my cars and I have never been disappointed. They have the laser cut machine and did mine perfectly.

TNT did my Jeep and did a pretty good job down off Birdneck. I got my Charger done at a shop off Rosemont and 264 at Admirals Auto Glass, don't go there, been back 4 times for them to fix it and it still isn't right!!!

how good did they do and will they do my 35/20 or will they do the law and put 50/35?

You don't get a receipt with illegal tint, I got a business card with a number on the back in case there are any issues, but any more cars that I get, I will be using TNT, a few of my buddies have done it there too.

so if it bubbles, fades, etc, just go with the card, no receipt?

That is why I like LA Tint. They said that I couldn't have a rec. because it was not legal tint but gave me a card. Plus I know that they keep all the info in the office computer as well because when I went in to get it done, he said he saw all the other cars that I have done and asked if I wanted the same tint%. (I have never had to take any car back to be fixed for tint problems, just make sure you get metallic tint so that it won't fade)

Yes but if you have an 06 like myself, metallic tint will make you loose your AM radio.

The metallic tint has also screwed up my FM reception.

FYI...ESPN radio is only on AM around here. :D

take I264 to Birdneck like you are going to oceanfront, hang a left onto birdneck, go about 1000 yards, they are on the right. They were very friendly and only took about 40 mins to do the charger. Nice guys, i would recommend them to anyone

Cops around here used to be SO bad about dark tint--I'm sure some of you who have been in VA for a while will remember. I guess they must have eased up some with the enforcement of the law because I see a LOT of cars riding around with darker than legal tint and they have VA plates.

Just my luck, I'd get a ticket.

Just like yesterday at the movies--the guy with the Charger that was sitting on the ground--he had tinted tails. I really want tinted tails. *sigh*

i own 3 tint and stereo shops down here in fla but that's a long drive for you unless you feel up to it. all our tint work is done with a machine that cuts the film for us.

Dang...I drive past those guys all the time. I've noticed the business there, but I've never paid attention to their name. I work less than a half-mile from them.

DaveDees

You could try this. When you reply to a thread go to the 'Go Advance'. Scroll down to where it says 'Manage attachments'. A window will pop up and from there you can browse for the pic you want to attach. That's how I did it a few minutes ago.

OK...here's a possibly stupid question...

Does window tint come in shades/darkness other than 20, 35, 50, etc.?

Like I've said before, I'd love to have my windows a bit darker, but I don't want to be too dark and get the wrong type of attention...if you know what I mean. I would like to be able to get just a shade darker than legal.

There is limo/black and smoke and mirror. Different colors and other options but personally I think regular limo black is best, and the darker the better, but I'm not a wuss like some people, lol.

I know about all that, smart@$$......what I mean is are there other shades or levels of darkness...like 45, 40, 30, etc.

Back in the day...I had limo tint on the rear window of my truck, and 35 (I believe) in the side windows. Talk about dark! :alien:

they go all the way down to -10% which means privacy tint, you can't see in, and you would be very lucky to see out!

So I could get, say, 45/30 or 40/30 or 40/25?

when you see mine tomorrow it is 35/20, the number is the amount of light allowed in. the smaller the number the darker it is.

Roger...I got that. Right now, I have the legal 50/35. I want it a bit darker, but I'm afraid that 35/20 will be a bit to dark...especially on my black car...in that it will get the attention of the local law enforcement (I wouldn't mind it that dark). That's why I'm wondering about the tint levels between 35/20 and 50/35.

Mine is 35 20 you or 50 20 I am not sure so you can see it today too looks really good on the silversteel cars

if you look at my pic page I did here, you will see how dark 35/20 is. I don't see a reason not to be that dark, just roll the windows down when local LEO pulls ya over to show no threat

I have 35/20 on the Civic and it is a good amount of tint. Craig, you have a sunroof, if you are around the beach or whatever you want, open the roof, let more light in, they look lighter. I have 20 on the Jeep and put 15 on top of stock on the back of it, you will see it Saturday, it is really dark.
