I'm out of town the weekend of Presidents Day but since you just want to see the car I can put it in auto mode and send it on its way to you.

Besides a date, do you all want to meet at a resteraunt for some lunch on a Sunday or Saturday or a night time meet for some dinner or wings and B.S?

All right guys. I told you I'm bad at arrangin things but let's get this rolling.
Elsalsero has been kind enough to drive out from NYC and I want to see that SRT8. (actually, not really becuase then there is going to be more temptation).
Now, it certainly isn't gourmet food and I can't vouch for the quality of the wings and thighs (yeah that's it) but Hooters in East Meadow sounds like a good place for us to get togethor - at least in the winter. If it was nicer I would sugest some placewhere we could eat outside and drool over our cars. Now, we'll have to eat inside and drool over...wel it's Hooters.
Sound off if you are interested, have other thoughts and have dates that you cannot go. I'm out Presidnets Day weekend.

I'm fine either way. My wife has always ridden her own bike and joined me on those trips but the car - she's not so into. Plus we have two little ones so she will probably have to stay home with them. Anyone else can do what they want unless anyone has any objections. Also, if someone's boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, hisband, accountant whatever. objects to the venue it can be changed.

I had no idea. I drive past that place all the time - on Sunday's sometimes and I guess I've never seen anyone there. Small lot no? I think I can get done with rebuilding the motor on my bike -yeah that's it...(alright I'm taking the kids to friggin Gymboree Sunday morning) and be mobile by 1. I can go to both or one.

POstyboy, you must be the guy whose car was coming in when I last spoke to the person there responsible for ordering cars.

I had one bad exeprience in the sale of the car (and also I paid too much because I was running on impulse and didn't negotiate well - you can't blame them for that) and again when they screwed up the paperwork. Otherwise, they've been nothing but pleasant to deal with so far. I haven't come in with any major problems so that could change.

What happened to you Dutch? Was it the sales part or trouble in service?

All this sh*t, and the ironic thing is I was a previous Service & Parts Mgr for a GM dealership for 13 yrs, so it sucks being on the outside looking in for a change. Sorry for the long winded story, but I thought I should share some of my experiences. Look forward to seeing everyone on Sun, weather permitting (they're talking snow, OUCH!!!) Later.

They just really over-charged me for the labor in installing the new head light harnesses.

The headlights (Plus an oil change w/ Synthetic) cost $515. just ticked me off because they replaced two $34 parts.

They didn't rip you off. Didn't the service manager tell you that the two harnesses were $68 bucks installed, the oil is $7 a quart but the fn gold plated filter is $398:)

Damn. That $515 is up there. Such os the price for the occasional mod gone wrong. Sorry to hear about it.

Geez. Another bad experieince. I am alone in at least having a pleasant experience buying the car from them. I went there becuase I was treated like an after thought at another local dealer but I think that was a specific salesman (actually two) being a D&ck and not a reflection on that dealership.

There was an older guy that was cool with me there. They just didn't have the cars yet and they wouldn't give me a number on my trade (can't blame tehm). Lee had the car right there on the ground and was fair on the trade number so it was a done deal in ten minutes. I'll keep Security in mind if I go for an SRT or the Challenger.

I took the car out a few minutes ago. Snows+HaL = no problem but the roads are icing up. I'm near the venue so for me it's easy. Defintely not the best for anyone coming more then a few miles. Looks like a reschedule. Too bad.

The Durango eats this stuff up, but I'm more worried about the other a-holes on the road. I would love to have come, but it looks like it's a bust. Let's reschedule this as soon as we possible can. Well, I made "Presidents Club", so I know it's a toss up, Classic Cafe` in 15* weather, or Cancun in 85* weather with my wife and no kids, hhhhmmmm, I think it'll have to be Cancun with my wife. This event is one of the biggest Dodge and MOPAR events in the US. And all of us are going to be right in the middle of it all. Right in the thick of things. You guys are going to be an attraction all your own to all of the other MOPAR fans.

What time were you there? 10AM? The station is PACKED by 6PM. By 7PM you can't even think about getting a spot in the main lot.

Each vehicle must bring 2 cans of food benefiting the food banks in the community.

All cars must stay the entire time of the cruise.

No motorcycles.

They aren't too strict with the rules, and there is a board made up of different car clubs. The Mopar Power Club is there every week, down toward the west end of the lot.

Thanks for the info. I was there around 5-5:30 due to family obligations:) There were cars there - just no Chargers. I think I might have seen that 70 Barracuda one time though.

Yeah, too bad they are forecasting showers tonight, if there is even a slight threat, people stay home.

DAmn. Taking the kids to Fla to see grandpa this weekend. I'll be home Sunday night. If anyone is thinking Monday I can sneak out for a bit.

Another great cruise is down at Cedar Beach on Ocean Parkway on Saturday nights.. starts at 6pm, goes until dusk. The Beach Hut there serves food and drinks and the cars are usually high quality.

But once again, these Cruise nights are only good if there is NO threat of rain. Even the slight chance there will be rain keeps the cars under covers. People with 50 year old cars that they baby don't take them out in the rain, ever.

Massapequa doesn't start until 8PM, and I think it is done for the year now.

Kohl's on Saturday nights is great also.

The old K-Mart on Hempstead Tpke. on Tuesdays is also a great cruise night.

I'm trying to behave for the break in period, it's just begging me to get on it. I definitely want to know if there are any Long Island meets coming up, but I will be going to the Swap Meet at Englishtown on the 24th.
