March “Spring Fling” Tentatively Scheduled!

HEMEEE, fatchance and “The Committee” are happy to announce (sort of) the date for the SoCal Spring Fling 2006 …it looks to be March 25th. This is a tentative date that will be posted as confirmed the moment we gain approval for the venue, which is “Top Secret”!

This will not be a Meet… this will be an EVENT of major proportions! All we CAN say now is that what we have planned will blow away last Fall’s meet and, because we are expecting approximately 200 cars, we must secure permissions for the site and make certain we have the necessary facilities to accommodate 400-500 or more people. If we are able to execute everything we have planned for you, fasten your seatbelts… we feel we will actually need to anticipate 300+ cars!!

Please know that we have a very specific vision about the type of events we bring to you, and in light of circumstances surrounding the last several gatherings, we feel it necessary to set forth some guidelines. Thank you, in advance, for considering the following for this, and all future events we present:

* Vendors: Except in special circumstances, which would be announced, we only plan vendor give-aways and drawings for our major events. We only plan two major events each year - Spring & Fall. If you wish to donate prizes or gift certificates for our event, please contact HEMEEE or fatchance by PM. Please do NOT volunteer this information in our threads in order to prevent any conflict
* Displays & Demonstrations: To avoid scheduling and timing conflicts, no vendor displays or demonstrations may be planned or promoted without prior consentfrom fatchance or HEMEEE. All Demonstrators will be expected to follow the event ‘rules’ just as any other attendee

* Members: If you have ideas, wish to volunteer (we will need plenty!), have suggestions, etc. again, please contact HEMEEE or fatchance by PM rather than offer the info in the “official” thread to avoid confusion and/or conflict

* All Attendees: If you wish to use our event to promote another event, your business, services, another forum, etc., please make a request to HEMEEE or fatchance for approval… you can do this by joining www.300cforums.com and sending a private message, or email HEMEEE at hemeee@300cforums.com. To avoid numerous back & forth communications, please be very specific about “who-what-where-how-why” with your request

* Event Rules:Additional ‘Rules’ will be provided specific to each Event or Meet as the date nears. These are not public nor forum-supported events - ALL attendees and vendors are required to abide by our rules or you will be uninvited

...of that, we have no doubt, but we need everyone’s cooperation in order to bring this off without a hitch.

Thanks for your enthusiasm, when we can no longer run on pure adrenaline, that's what keeps us going! :)

We will not begin the list of attendees until we post the formal announcement.

Just FYI, I am compiling a Volunteers List - fatchance an I have formulated "The Plan", but with this many cars and people it will take a team effort to execute that plan! Anyone interested may PM me here, BUT if you're a member at 300cforums, I'd prefer the PM there since I have unlimited inbox capacity and, for obvious reasons, spend more time there... if you're not a member there, you can also email me at hemeee@300cforums.com (hemeee@300cforums.com) but I only check about 1-2x/week. In your message, please let me know if there is something in particular you prefer to help with or if yours is an open offer, or an offer of equipment or other services. Thank you!

It's another when we say we want to vist and it's 300+ cars. The minute we have the green light we will make a post. The date is March 25 for sure. This will be a major event, if you are thinking about attending start planning now, it will be that big.

fatchance and I are on the phone with each other daily, driving each other crazy.
We can hardly wait to be able to release the info., but until we have the official go-ahead from legal, it's just better to wait rather than try to deal with the confusion that a change in venue would create.

Here's the latest update. I received an e-mail today from the proporty management company. We should have the permits and insurance by today or Monday with the final legal approval. Just bare with us a little longer.

We're going to use a little different format for the list this time and fatchance will get that started after I've put together the official announcement... even if we have to go to Plan B!

WHAT-
update..
We were about to go to Plan B when fatchance received a call today from a key player stating that the most major of the hurdles have been overcome, the rest is technicalities... but taking the safe route, no further details about the agenda itself will be released until the ink is dry.

Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding through this, it's been much more of an ordeal than either fatchance or I ever expected... you've heard it before, but this will be different than anything we've done so far, and it will be worth it! The official announcement, with venue and some agenda deetails, will be posted next week.

For those of you that are traveling, the date has been finalized for quite sometime so hopefully you have put in for it and scheduled your time off... if you haven't, please don't wait, we may very well have to limit the number of cars that may attend!
