Washing a car twice a week too much? Please vote. My Christian Friends and co-workers think I have a idol/obsession. Is it wrong to take care of a car like that?

I voted yes but only because I feel you might be stripping off protection if you using wrong ph to suds....but by all means caring for the charger is never wrong!

and what is the hurt in washing a car as much as you want!!!? i ask....I too have ocd where car is concerned....frankly I dont care what others think because Im not hurting no one and they do not pay my bills!

I wish..............I had you're time. I love my car just as much as you. Yet, I've only washed it 4 times in 9 months of ownership. Damn my kids, cats, family....lol:lol: .

Wash car = 2x a week
Rims and tires = 3x a week
full interior (clean / condition / armorall) = 1x a week
Vaccum car (under reg conditions) = 2x a week
Detail spray followed by sray polish = 3x a week
hand wax and buff = 1x a month
Wipe down under the hood and shine parts = 1x a week
Polish exhaust tips = 1x every 2 weeks
spray air freshner inside = 1x a day
apply tire wet = 2x a week

here.. you can wipe the pollen off..and it will be back on the car the same as before within 5 mins. nothing you can really do about it..

I do a full complete wash and wax every weekend (minus the wax during winter) and dust as required between washings with my Cali Duster, and touch up the wheels and tires as required as well.

The longest my car EVER goes is a week... but thats less than .1% of the time. Generally 4-7 times a week.

I assume you are a Christian as you mentioned Christian friends.

Are you ignoring any of your responsibilites because of the car, family, ministry, or other.

If the answer is truthfully no to that then you should be able to wash your car as often as you like.

If you are ignoring your other responsibilites then the answer is yes you are washing to much and it could be considered an idol.

My schedule is completely full and I am lucky to wash mine 2 times in one month, if I washed my car 2 times in a week something else would go lacking. Of course it is not a daily driver either.

I follow almost this exact schedule, except I have to dust&wipe every day when I leave work (having a black car working at a scrap yard isn't the best idea, but it looks too good). If you're obsessed, then my entire family is screwed because we're all the same way with our cars. My brother is a little worse, he likes to take out his front two seats to clean them.

I am a Christian. I could be using the time I have to wash my car spent on talking to people about Jesus. I think it comes down to being balanced. One must equally distribute ones choices according to a ones priority's.

We all have some sort of obsessive-compulsive behavior condition, noticable or not. A black and white vehicle needs more attention then most others.
I was at Rally's last week, and some construction workers gave me the greatest of compliments, one stating "that is one Bad MF, is that and '08?', and I hadn't wash her in 2 weeks!

Twice a week seems a little obsessive to me. I mean... I LOVE my car but I only wash it about once every 3 weeks and wax once every month. But hey, there's nothing wrong with taking care of a $30k+ purchase.

you are perfectly normal i wash my car 2-3 times weekly with a quick detail every day its not raining and somehow it still gets dirty. it mioght be from my 45 mile drive to work
