Forum member Cherry has one. Ive seen it and it looks and sounds great. Not to mention what it has done for power. I personally just added a K/N filter not the whole CAI unit and I can tell a differance in my car.

being that I am a newbie, can someone tell me what the CAI does and what are the benefits. Also how hard is it to install and get any general mechanic install it

Hey Jeff, I already ordered and received the WOPAR Cai, auto headlight switch, Hood strutt kit, and Auto Dimming Mirror. Now I also ordered the Auto Dimming Mirror harness which was backordered at the time but I called little over 2 weeks ago and they told me that it did come in and they would ship it the next day. 2 weeks later still no harness. The initial order only took 3 days to get to Indiana. Wonder if the harness made a detour via India ;) I am sure they just totally forgot about it and I keep meaning to call again on this but I am very busy during the day and keep forgetting to call. Is there anyway you can check on my order. I have been waiting for this harness over 3 1/2 weeks now and I hope they didn't sell it to someone else.

Also the Mopar Cai came with the Emblem upside down hence the referrence to the WOPAR Cai. Is there anyway you can send me a Mopar emblem so I can remove the one that is on there and put a new one on there and this time in the proper orientation?

Thanks Jeff for your help!

Tom in Indy.

The Mopar Cai (Cold Air Intake) is in my opinion the Best looking, best fitting and most importantly the best "Sounding" of the bunch of Cold Air Intakes available. I first wanted to go with the K&N but a lot of people after getting the K&N swapped to the Mopar CAI because the way it sounds.
Overall it will let more air flow into your engine and will enhance performance.
Which all CAI's will do. It will give you about 5-6 HP (realistically) some will disagree and give you inflated numbers. They all give you about the same HP numbers. The Mopar CAI just looks very nice under the hood and fits perfectly and at WOT it really sounds mean. Plus the best part is, it's made by WoPAR.. ehmm I mean MOPAR :D There have been a lot of those MOPAR Cai's being shipped with the emblem upside down someone there at Quality Control must have been sleeping. Or they outsourced it to India which would explain it. But it's easy to fix. Just remove the W Sticker and have them send you another Sticker to put on. ;)

Now Mr. Scary... don't be skeptical ;) It does have a heatshield and the intake tube is made out of a powder coated lightweight polymer so it disperses heat a lot better than the aluminum type. And yes, it still will suck in some warmer air under the hood but it will also get fresh air from underneath the car and from the headlight area. Overall I don't think it's all that bad and it does suck in a lot more air. I actually could feel the difference in accelleration. It is a mod I don't regret unlike the removal of the resonators which I could shoot myself for doing that.
Onto getting a decent cat back. Maybe I should stick with Mopar products in the future ;)

Hey Jeff, any good deals on a Mopar Cat back? I am in need of one. How about a Good Customer Discount ;)

I thought that someone here said it was built by K&N? Is that right?

I don't think so. It's made by Mopar. Therefore the name Mopar CAI :D

mopar filters are supposedly mfg my K&n....the K&n is an 8ply filter if memory serves and the MOPAR BLUE filter is 4 ply with an aluminum tube instead of black rubber

Sorry dude, they are still called CAI's even if they suck in less than cold air.
And here in Indiana as you know our air is always pretty cool even under the hood ;)
Now if you have a Hot Head driver like Scary here we will have to call it a Warmed up Tuna Air Intake to match his Tuna Boat Exhaust

IM renaming the CAI It will now be the TAI

Tuna Air Intake it will consist of methane and tuna water sprayed to cool the intake system. It has been discovered that fish oils lubes up the intake
