I have a problem. I went to enter my new home address in my factory navigation system in my 2006 SRT8 and guess what, it won't recognzie my house number. Now, this house has been here since the 1960s, so it's not an update situation that a new navi disk would fix. My address is in the 2600 block of my street, but the navi system will only allow me to input addresses from the 2500 and 2700 blocks. The funny thing is, there is NO 2700 block of my street, as the street comes to a dead end after the 2600 block.
I had no problem at all entering my previous address, which was out in the country and used 911 coordinates instead of the old rural route numbers.
Does anyone know what the problem is here? Any help would be appreciated.

Im not sure why it would do that. Seems like the nav software is just wrong. However, you can just either input your gps coordinates or while sitting in your driveway, select your current location as your home address. That's what I had to do with mine. But mine is an "update" problem because the house is only 2 yrs old.

I don't have the factory navigation system but when i first got my after market i had the same problem. I wasn't able to type in my full address because it did not recognize it until i found out that i had to change the state that it was in. So just check if its set to your state

For security and safety reasons you may NOT want your home address programmed in. If someone were to get a hold of your car without your permission they would be able to use such info to drive directly to your house.

Especially if you have your garage door programmed in....

Thanks for the tips everyone! I found the GPS coordinates, and it translated them to a non-existent address. So, I simply just entered the non-existent address, which is right in my driveway. If someone were to get ahold of my car and try to drive to my house, they would drive themselves insane trying to find it, because the home address the GPS gives does NOT exist. At least now when I try to find my way home out of an unfamiliar area, the navigation will take me right to my driveway:)

Sorry, had to laugh! I can't put in my home address in the nav!
Ah, you need a map to find your home? Is this for the drunken binder nights to be sure your in the right place?
Just kidding, but it struck me funny!

Actually, I haven't had a drink in about 2 1/2 years. So no more drunken nights for me.
I programmed my home address in my nav because there are some cities around here that I am unfamiliar with, and I get lost in them easily, as they are confusing to drive in. I actually found my way out of one of these cities by simply selecting "home" in my nav and following the directions. It definitely saved me a lot of hassle. I am sure there are others who program their home address into their nav for the same reason.

Yeah mine is a new house and I had the same problem but i just parked in my driveway and saved the current location as home. I use it when I am somewhere unfamiliar as well and when it gets me back on the highway I just shut it off once I know where I am at!
And for the guy that says you don't want someone in your stolen car to be able to find your house?? If my car is stolen I wish they would try to drive it to my house I will great them at the front door with a friendly suprise!
