2008 mygig - can it be installed in a 2007?

I want to upgrade my 2007 with the 2008 mygig system. Some say I can't do it because of the difference in the communication bus.; and some say it could be done. Has anyone else had this problem? What do you guys think?

Every vendor I see selling this thing stress a lot about how it won't fit ANY 2007 Models besides the Sebring.

I understand it as there are 2 versions of the mygig system. One for our lx's and grand Cherokees that use the old style canbus system; and one for the sebring and other new models. they run off of a different frequesncy range or something to that effect. The one for the LX's communicates on the same system the 2006 and 2007's have. Problem is making the mygig communicate with everything in the car such as bluetooth and steering wheel controls etc. Wiring it up would be the kicker. this is at least my understanding of it all.
