Hey all was wondering if anyone has reccomended auto shops or stores in and around the Boise area.
For example Boise Muffler on Fairview, I have had two exhausts done through these guys, both times they were fast, with quality work performed for a reasonable price.
I am looking for a good auto parts store, more than just Schucks, pepboys, autozone etc.. Anyone have any susgestions or guidance?
Also what about mechanics? As I near the end of my warranty this summer I am looking for an honest good quality mechanic for any issues that come up.
See you all this Saturday.

I try to do most of my own work, if at all possible. I don't know of any mechanics around here that I would trust. (That means, that I would drop my car off and let them have at it without me hovering over them.) I've got most of the tools I need and a drive on hoist, so I can do most things. I've done it this way for a lot of years, and am comfortable doing so. I've also got all the Shop Manuals for the LX (hardcopy and CD), so figuring things out has not been a problem, so far. Also, the folks on these forums can answer almost any question you could come up with. I would probably be least comfortable at the dealer, as you can't see what they're doing to your baby. In the 3 1/2 years I've had my RT, it's been to the dealer about 4 times, trailer hitch, backup alert system, trans. seal TSB and PCM flash, and nitrogen in the tires.
I also use Boise Muffler for all exhaust work. Roland has always been upfront, fair, and reasonable. I've tried Ammerman's down on Chinden, but they're a little pricey, IMO. They do great work though. I think BoiseHemi has his work done there. I do all tire, wheel, alignment at the Schucks across from Boise Muffler. I ALWAYS watch them like a hawk though. Their alignment folks are the ones that told me to do the alignment with me and the wife in the car. This is the way it is driven 90% of the time. If you have it aligned with no weight in the front, then get in, you'll find it goes out of tolerance. I had the guy show me. It's no BS. From now on that's the only way I have any of my rides aligned.
As far as parts go, I shop around. Depends on what I need. If I really need something unique or have questions about something, I'll go see my neighbor's son at the Eagle Napa store. Unfortunately he's a "Rustang" guy, but he knows what Napa has, or can get. So far, anything I've needed (except plugs, oil and filters) I've gotten from the dealer. Plugs (NGK) I got from Schmucks, Mobil 1 oil from Wallyworld, Mobil 1 or K and N filters from Auto Scone.
You might ask some of the guys on Saturday. Unfortunately I haven't heard from some of the "regulars", so I don't know if they'll be there or not. Hope to see you then.
