Mopar Madness 2008

The President of the Tidewater Mopar Club asked me to pass on the info on the Mopar Madness Show-n-Shine...w/drag racing.

The show will be held August 23rd and 24th at the Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg.

I went to the show last year and had a great time...other than the fact that, for some reason that is still a mystery, my car wasn't judged :D. A number of us convoyed up from the Hampton Roads area. It was actually the very first car show that I participated in. Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since.

If you can, be sure to put this event on your calendar...you won't be sorry.

Below are a couple of different flyers for the event. (Please note that the deadline date of March 1st for the Swap Meet is incorrect. I do not know the correct date, but if anyone is interested, I can find out.)

As long as I am not on the bracket against gilgamesh ...he would have to give me 4 car lengths head start. As much HP I am stuffing into the car I'm still a wee bit short on HP compared to GiL. (I'll know on Monday how much short)..... Waitting on those TT's then I'll come a calling LOL

This year, the car show and awards are on ONE day...Saturday. Last year, the show was on Saturday and the awards were on Sunday.

It was a absolute blast. I was there with some members of a Mopar club that I belong to (MPMA), and we had a couple of tents set up, a grill going, and an iced-down keg. It was a VERY good time. :beerchug:

USCG Charger and his wife were also there...good to see them again. :wave:

Man there were some fast cars out there... I wish I would have raced my charger in the later model class (magnums, 300, and chargers) b/c Iwould have won w/ease...I was a lil bumbed about that....oh well good to see ay again,

My Dial in was a 11.98 but I ended up with 12.0 @ 118 but the guy ran faster then his dialin so I won.

I come back from Charleston that wk. It's real hard for me to make plans on the day that I come back into town b/c some times I'm beat other times I ready to party and then of course the wife plays a big part in all that as well... I'll let u know that wk.

I finally decided to enter into Bracket racing did end up WINNING the Street Class so I did get a 1st place Trophy... oh joy !

My Dial in was a 11.98 but I ended up with 12.0 @ 118 but the guy ran faster then his dialin so I won.

Someone is going to have to explain this dial-iin crap to me. And what are the single digit numbers that are given after each time (i.e., 11.98 with a 2)? I thought that I had it figured out, but then someone who was closer to their dial-in time lost (and didn't red light). I'm sorely confused. :confused:

Yep, went there with a buddy Don, who has got a new black chally. We didn't park in the car show area, but in the regular parking. He parked between myself and another Top banana. We left around 2pm after talking to the rep about the Orange chally. He said at 1 pm it was gong to "go down the track" Don't know if you saw it, but driving down the side road is not the same! After that disappointment, we got bored and left. It's too bad since I think they *could* have had a great turn out, but whoever does their marketing is asleep at the wheel! Really, I've been to this and the bike fest earlier this year, and both had low turn-outs and too much time in between events.
