If you are in the market for a new hood, you should know that there are some tremendous advantages to doing a shaker hood instead of a full fiberglass hood. For one, your factory alluminum hood will not need repainted, and will not warp or get wavy from the heat like fiberglass hoods often do. Also, you will not need to worry about the costly prep work and the paint not matching or having to re-paint the fenders and nose so it will match. No, but it will fit the HEMI!!!! You can however mount the scoop into the hood and save a few hundred bucks on the kit since you would only need the upper half.

I'm in for the Shaker as well as the other items that we've talked about. I noticed two different setups over the intake in the pics above, and I've seen another setup where the air is directed to an AFE intake through a hole that was cut into the housing. Any thoughts on which setup is preferred?

Best mod I have done to my car, totally changed the look and its personality...:grin: I mod'd my AFE and Shaker so they work as one integrated intake system. When you order the Shaker from MO you can get the base kit but just have him add a "Shaker Manifold."

The hardest part of doing the mod with the AFE was finding the right parts. If anyone has any questions on it send me a PM, I'll be glad to share info. I'm also going to be at LX Springfest in Irvine if anyone wants to check this mod out in person.

There was a Magnum owner who upgraded from the CDC to the Danko last fall. All he really had to do was extend the opening forward and change the trim rings.

really? thats awsome Im gonna have to start putting $$$ aside for this I went and tried to install my BT catch can today (dident fit with the CDC)

Now dont get me wrong I like the way the CDC looks an all but when I picked the cover up I heard it crack right at the split in the nose and I dont wanna have it break and have to drive around with just a hole in my hood.

You'll have to have it painted flat black, the gelcoat that its finished in when he ships isn't the ideal finish to leave to the elements.

Actually, lately we've been painting all of the shaker scoops with an automotive Matte black finish over the black gelcoat, so it looks pretty decent out of the box. Several folks on here have kept the factory finish, but of course some will want it nicer.

Not at all. The hole is the same size and location, just the front is 3" longer -Don't worry, It's been done before. You will have to get a jigsaw and cut it out with the provided template, then screw the bottom brace onto the hood and stick-on or bond the trim ring. Of course you would want to also swap out those brittle CDC alluminum shaker mounts for my nickle plated steel ones. Another bonux, is that if you still have your OEM hood insulation, you can actually use it with my shaker! Look in the front of this thread and click on the online installation link.

Hi, I'd think PurplePistol can comment on that since there is snow all over the picture. Snow will melt as soon as you fire it up, and then flow through the water managment Gutter systems inside the shaker. No form of ingested or run-off water has ever been even a small issue, the design has that covered.

Here is an update, a couple of the group buy shakers were sent out before we moved, and we just finished moving to a larger shop this last 2 weeks so not much has progressed besides that, which was a huge job. Wendy's shaker will be shipping in a couple of days. As soon as we get fully situated, the production will be moving faster than ever.

Hey Guys, I wish you all would chill out a bit...At this point, anyone asking to order a shaker is told that there will be an 8-12 week lead time, just like April last year. We had a pretty large list of shaker to make before the group buy (which have all been shipped) and yes, we had plenty stock on the shelves of PARTS, but the assembly of the parts is what takes all the time and we are short-handed. Last week we got 3 more shakers finished on this BG list and shipped 2, Toycrypt didn't want his shipped because he is still deciding what kind of grilles he wants so someone else on this list will get his. Almost all of you paid on the same day, so it's a toss up...I don't really care who gets the next one, but a couple more will also ship by Friday. In case you don't know, we just finished setting up our new shop and just went through a very involved 2 day Passover Holiday this weekend in which we do not answer the phone or use email for religious reasons. Anybody who just can't wait a few more days is welcome to cancel his order but there will be a 20% restocking fee since these are custom made to order as it was clearly stated in the form you filled out.
