TDE is having its first public events of the year. They run a driving school at Texas Motor Speedway and I've taken the Charger out there already. The school is a blast and is eight hours long. Four 25 minute driving sessions, a morning class, and lunch at noon. They are running a few different programs that day. Here's (http://www.blowinsmokeinc.com/entertainment/events/index.html) a link from my website about the three programs they are running. Here's (http://texasdrivingexperience.com/sub.aspx?p=Registration) a link to the registration page and pricing but if we can get a group, we may be able to get a discount so dont register yet. I'm in for sure! Let me know if you have any questions.

No one wants to run around Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday?

Yeah, I'd be interested, but the cost is a little too high for my liking. Also, weekends are for my kids activities and there is no way I could get there for a full day. Besides, I want to get out on the big oval and that requires going through four other sessions and the cost is up around $2K then. How about I sign a waver and $50 bucks for two laps around the beast...

You only have to take one course to run the Roval unless they've changed the guidelines. It costs $275 to run the Roval. The first class, I rode and drove in their Vettes around the infield. Its fun, and the kids come come along as well if you have an extra set of eyes.

Just found out I'll be running the Introduction to Road Racing with Critique for $475. Half the day is spent in their 2005 Mustang V6s learning driving techniques and the other half is on your own vehicle. I do get a small discount and I may be able to do the same for you guys.

I have driven my GP for 3 laps on the track on Charity event day. I think the cost was $20 a few years ago. Use to hook up with the Grand Prix club and do it as a group. Was a blast. Especially going through the high bank turns and looking down at cars beside you. Even got a pic of my car in winner circle!
You really don't reach speeds much over 80 though. There is a pace car. Alot of people would slow down to then go WOT. When they started doing that though the pace car slowed as well. I heard that later that night, if you kept up with the pace car, they were going 90+.
You could probably bring your kids for the experience but definitely check before. You may not want to anyway just in case someone decides to get crazy as you go out in groups of 15 or so. Check out their website for a schedule of when they may be doing it again.

Texas Driving Experience is a lot different than he Laps for Charity. On the infield track, the Vettes get up between 90mph - 100mph, and on the Roval I got the Charger up to 125mph after coming off turn 4. There are four 30 minute sessions on the track. The Roval is the best. It runs the Lemans course. They're only running the infield on Saturday.

I understand that. I was only throwing this out as more of a cheap thrills option...
