They just posted event calendar. Track opens April 1st.
July 23rd is MOPAR day. I will contact the track for a Charger/300/Magnum corral if we have enough interest for it. 20 or more cars. Otherwise we can just meet and try to group together.
I have attached a map so people can judge if they want to travel.

We talked about this today. It's my understanding that GLD is no good. Thats just what i hear. Find out price and what not. It would be best to all get together. Craig mentioned that he thinks we can rent Galt Airport for cheap do like the Tunners do play around and have fun. He's going to look into it. There is was also talk of a Dyno Day at a new shop out that way.
Come to the Next Meeting March 18th at Ram in Rosemont see my other post. That way we can get everyone's opinoin and work out what we want to do. Remember the more we have the less it cost each of us to do stuff. Plus we have fun didn't we last time.

I'm interested too. I ran on this track the last Friday night that it was open last fall and I thought it was in decent shape. However, I did avoid GLD for a few years b/c the pits and track were neglected for about a decade (so I know why scarbrs heard what he heard). The cost to enter and run was $28.00 all night so there shouldn't be much difference now.
Scarbrs, where is Galt airport and can you provide more info abt it?
Gotta go - Bears game is back on after the halftime break.

Yea that just what i heard. I never had a car worthy of Draging before so this is new to me.
Galt is in wonder lake. Craig lives out that way he's going to check on it. GGR was going to check on Rt 66 Raceway but i heard its over priced.
It's probably best if we go early in the season before it gets hot then again in the fall. As we all have seen the Hemi Loves the cooler weather.

Pits were still the same. They have a high octane pump now at the track. New staging area 2 years ago. The track seemed good to me and they have become very picky about cars with leaking issues, turn your air off when you get off the highway, finally!
You don't want to go on nights that have a "special" event as they close the track to all other vehicle types every hour 1/2 or so.
I do like the track and atmosphere. That the pits are not perfect doesn't bother me, but that is a personal opinion.

I am interested in coming to that meet a well. Not to far and should be fun.
If the weather is good, we will come up with 2 or 3 vehicles. Keep us posted.
Thanks
Chuck
I'd be interested in Great Lakes too. I've always wanted to do this and now have a worthy car! My eye doctor of all people, takes his car out there.

I went to GLD last season about 6 times with my car and my brother-in-law who has an 04 SVT lightning. It was a fun time and I didn't notice much with the track, maybe if your running 8 seconds you could notice every minor imperfection, but for basically stock I was fine. The only complaint I have is dont go on the weekend or friday night, way too many people if you want to get a few quick runs in go during the week.
