I heard someone from pedders say that they have a few parts that will fit our AWD. Can you list them and what they will do. Thanks

How about we list what know won't fit?

Front lower control arm bushes
Front strut

We are doing an AWD car up at Rob Anderson's shop next month. We'll have complete details and pictutres just like Bob's thread from Florida.

So we may be looking at:

LX Rear Cradle Bushes
LX Bump Steer Correction Kit
LX Fron Radius Rod Bush
LX Rear Control Arm/Radius Arm Bush Adjustable Camber
LX Rear Control Arm/Radius Arm Bush Adjustable Camber
LX Lower Rear Shock Mount
LX Rear Control Arm Inner Bush
LX Rear Trailing Arm Lower Fron Bush
LX Rear Toe Link Bush
LX Rear Trailing Arm Lower Rear Bush

Now i'm not sure about the sway bars, maybe you can help. I know the rear suspension is not much if at all different from the RWD models, i know the front has completely different struts and springs, not sure about all the other stuff though. Definately let me know as you go along with this process.

Also if you are looking for suspension systems to compare to, im 99% sure that the charger sxt/RT AWD, magnum SXT/RT AWD, and the 300c v8 and V6 AWD have all the same suspension systems.

We are thinking along the same lines. The front sways and endlinks are questionable. Most everything else will be good to go. We have to check cambers with our lowering coils installed... We are working on the front strut to have a GSR available. We have every intention of taking care of the AWD LX -- I live in Michigan

I'm glad to see your trying to fit us in. I know the rear struts for the RWD MAY fit along with the shocks. But the fronts are a complete different height and thickness and everything else. I'm REALLY interested in sways so if by any chance they don't fit on the AWD Lx's could you put a request in for not only making struts but also sways. There is a high demand for AWD sways, i always see threads trying to upgrade the AWD's handling, and a great thing to have would be sways. Right now our suspension market is VERY limited, we have eibach lowering springs available, and the KW Variant 2's will fit our car also. Other than that, there is nothing else.

Yea im tellin you, theres definately a good market for upgraded suspension on the AWD LX. I always find threads of people trying to get better handling in their LX because AWD cars are always connected to awesome handling, which in this case, is not really what it is lol. Where are you located? I can be your test car if your in the area :)

RWD + No traction control + Full Power Launch = lots of smoke and really slow starts...

and MORE SMOKE....

http://forums.peddersusa.com/imagehosting/84792f257026f1.gif

I was experimenting with launches at the track with the traction control disabled, OE wheels and tires. The car barely moved -- it sat there and smoked. The Viper was long gone and I was still smoking. If I didn't throttle back to get traction I think I could have run a 1 minute 1/4 mile -- in place. I am not 100% sure these pictures are the run, but this is pretty much the way the run felt in the car!

I've wanted sways for my AWD pretty much since I got it .... definitely NEED some ... :)What your car really needs is bushes -- a Pedders Street I . Bob @ precision just installed only bushes on his car. He'll drive it for a week or two before we add bars, dampers and coils. He'll be posting his evaluations at different stages of upgrades.

Before you change bars -- change bushes.

I like the bar I go to now and bushes I usually like shav .... oh, wait you're talking about something else :D

I did a bushing change from stock to poly-urethane on a 95 Taurus SHO I used to own and it did a huge difference in the handling of the car, it was a lot more responsive to steering inputs .... loved it ...

Any more AWD info coming ? prices ? availability ?

Thanks guys.

We will be test fitting a number of parts on an AWD on the 10th, the front struts and sway bars are different, but we will update everyone when we are done with it.
