The stock VES has wireless headphones, the VES unit comes with a harness that runs underneath the carpet to the back of your stock headunit.

It should go into the the 6 cd player with no problem. I believe the only thing you will not be able to do is listen to the DVD or whatever audio is coming from the VES unit out of your car's speakers only out of the wireless headphones.
I will post up the instructions when I get home today for ya.

Do you and/or the other guy have Sirius?
if so you are going to have to transplant 3 wires into the harness.
not the easiest thing to do, but do-a-ble. I put my VES in back in
July with the help of another member. There is a pdf file around here of the tech install instructions.

It works fine with the 6 disc. It will play through the stereo also (not on
the single cd base model though). Also if you want it come up on the EVIC
display you'll need to have it Starscanned but mine worked fine even
before the scan.
I also had to purchase a harness as the one I bought didn't have one.
There are 2 different harness', one for VES one without. PM if you need
any part #'s.

Well im pretty sure when you put it on the EVIC mode, you can listen to the dvd on the cars stereo.
Anyways so if i were to get my system uninstalled by a custom vechiles shop, what should i ask them to do ? remove all wiring and everything that has to do with the dvd player? Or doin this would i lose any other feautures? I have my ipod plugged in with the 3 (white red and yellow) cables, connected right in front of the dvd screen. Would this still work?

Ok I want it back now  j/k, no but I really do want a VES again since I have the stock Nav. If I find one at a good price I might get one but if not I will just go with a complete aftermarket setup (Nav touchscreen, screens in headrest, and a ps2). I just love how the VES can be completely independant of the headunit, and the wireless headphones is a plus.
Keep an eye out for me and let me know if you see any that are reasonably prices.

Oh!!!! PM me your email address I will give you the full PDF instructions, but you really only have to unplug the harness (its little more complicated than just unplugging it, you will see in the intructions) from the head unit and remove a couple of screws on the center consule (VES unit) lid. It's fairly simple.
