For those of you who don't know what a G-Tech is, it is an accelerometer that uses G-forces to measure the acceleration of you car. Check out this Video (http://video.google.com/url?docid=-2674362040744664900&esrc=sr1&ev=v&len=35&q=gtech%2Bpro&srcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D 2uLB5LCgILw&vidurl=%2Fvideoplay%3Fdocid%3D-2674362040744664900%26q%3Dgtech%2Bpro%26total%3D30 %26start%3D0%26num%3D10%26so%3D0%26type%3Dsearch%2 6plindex%3D0&usg=AL29H238_kJndHFGkSh3FiuMw_Yaon9UDA), then you should understand.

It can measure your handling Gs, 0-60 times, 60', 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile times, stopping distance, hp and tq. It can also measure your RPMs and has shift lights.

I've been wanting to try one of these for a long time, but have been to skeptical to actually buy one. Well, I finally bit the bullet and decided to buy one. They do offer a 30 money back guarantee if you buy it from their site, so I figured I'd return it, if I didn't like it. And it looks like I plan on keeping it.

First time I took it out I did a few 1/4 mile runs and all my times were between 13.2-13.5 depending how well I hooked up. Last time I went to the track, I ran my best time of 13.1, but most of my time last time at the track were 13.2s and 13.3s and is very constant with what I ran at the track. My best 0-60 was 4.75 which sound about right for my mods. I would definitely say it is +/- a tenth of a second. Because the consistency is so good, it is a great tool to see how much you have gained with your mods.

Pros:

Pretty accurate and consistent
very easy to use
lots of features

Cons:

Doesn't read RPMs on my car.
HP/TQ are way off (If you want to know your HP, and dyno is a lot cheaper)
Trap speeds on the 1/4 mile aren't as accurate as the ET

Over all I think it was well worth the money and I am very satisfied with it. I'm trying to get some of my buddies to try it on their cars to test it out some more. I won't know for sure how good it really is till I test it at the track. In the instruction booklet, they have a formula to calculate you pitch factor if your MPH on the 1/4 are reading off a little, but you need your actually trap speed to figure it out.

Sounds like a cool toy. Where did you get it and how much?

how does it measure horsepower... i have a scanguage II and it measures hp too... the company stated the following: The HP reading that the ScanGauge does is an internal calculation. It should be pretty close to the gross horsepower that your engine produces. We have done testing on several cars at a dyno and found the ScanGauge to be reading around 15-20% higher then wheel hp.

Nice!

Got a website and a price? I'm very interested as my EVIC only lists 0-60 (07 daytona).

Congrats on the new toy and I wish you the best of fun with it! As soon as you do a track night, post the results of each so we can compare, if you don't mind.

They say to get an accurate reading on the HP, you need an accurate weight, and that I don't have. But either way, I don't think the HP is even close. I think it tells me I have about 270 hp.

If you just want to know what your HP is, you are better off going to a dyno shop and getting your car dynoed for $75 and save some money.
