For those of you who don't know what a G-Tech is, it is an accelerometer that uses G-forces to measure the acceleration of you car. Check out this Video (http://video.google.com/url?docid=-2674362040744664900&esrc=sr1&ev=v&len=35&q=gtech%2Bpro&srcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D 2uLB5LCgILw&vidurl=%2Fvideoplay%3Fdocid%3D-2674362040744664900%26q%3Dgtech%2Bpro%26total%3D30 %26start%3D0%26num%3D10%26so%3D0%26type%3Dsearch%2 6plindex%3D0&usg=AL29H238_kJndHFGkSh3FiuMw_Yaon9UDA), then you should understand.
It can measure your handling Gs, 0-60 times, 60', 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile times, stopping distance, hp and tq. It can also measure your RPMs and has shift lights.
I've been wanting to try one of these for a long time, but have been to skeptical to actually buy one. Well, I finally bit the bullet and decided to buy one. They do offer a 30 money back guarantee if you buy it from their site, so I figured I'd return it, if I didn't like it. And it looks like I plan on keeping it.
First time I took it out I did a few 1/4 mile runs and all my times were between 13.2-13.5 depending how well I hooked up. Last time I went to the track, I ran my best time of 13.1, but most of my time last time at the track were 13.2s and 13.3s and is very constant with what I ran at the track. My best 0-60 was 4.75 which sound about right for my mods. I would definitely say it is +/- a tenth of a second. Because the consistency is so good, it is a great tool to see how much you have gained with your mods.
Pros:
Pretty accurate and consistent
very easy to use
lots of features
Cons:
Doesn't read RPMs on my car.
HP/TQ are way off (If you want to know your HP, and dyno is a lot cheaper)
Trap speeds on the 1/4 mile aren't as accurate as the ET
Over all I think it was well worth the money and I am very satisfied with it. I'm trying to get some of my buddies to try it on their cars to test it out some more. I won't know for sure how good it really is till I test it at the track. In the instruction booklet, they have a formula to calculate you pitch factor if your MPH on the 1/4 are reading off a little, but you need your actually trap speed to figure it out.
