Remote Start

hey i got a 08 charger sxt a couple days ago. I wanted to know how to enable the remote start feature. I have the button thingy for it on my keys ( the x2 button). do i need to buy anything?

Make sure thats not the trunk open button first :)

First off, I'm not sure that the SXT has that capability. But I may be wrong. If it does, there should be two buttons on your key fob, the trunk one shows a car with the trunk open and an x2 on it. The remote start is next to that and has an x2 with a about a 3/4 full cirlce with an arrow at the end going around the x2. All you have to do is push that button twice. Your doors must also be locked before you do it or it wont work. But just push the button twice, and your horn will then honk twice and the car will start up a few seconds after. If it doesn't work, you don't have it on your car.

I have an 07 R/T with R/T package and I don't have that button on my fob. Is this something I can go to the dealer and have done? Change my keys? Should I just look to the aftermarket? Thanks

Pretty sure he/she thought the trunk open button was remote start for some reason

Get the mopar remote start system. It will work with the factory alarm/entry system, and does not disable the pass-key system.

I believe the dealer can install the remote start on your vehicle pretty easy. I'm not sure about adding it to your key fob, I know on the new key fob that I have with my 08 I can add an additional two buttons. But I'm not sure on the 07's. If they are the same as the 06's (my wife has an '06 300) then there arent any places to add additional buttons and you may have to use a secondary fob. But check with the dealer, it may be possible. Remote start is definately handy!
