I know alot of people are and have been interested in hacking the NAV unit so that the full menus/options remain at high speeds. I am interested in a slightly different kind of hack. Everyone that has a NAV unit is likely familiar with the DODGE logo that is displayed when the car is turned on.

Is deleting that image or modifying its color scheme to match one's charger as simple as finding the appropriate .jpeg file, or whatever type of picture file, and swapping it out? Or is there likely more to it than this?

Anyone with relevant knowledge.....please chime in.

Thanx

On the MyGig system, you can "import" from a USB flash drive, pictures that may be used as default wallpaper. You may change your wallpaper as often as you wish. On mine, also imported a 90 meg sirius sound track...neat stuff.

Disgusting. This makes me want to upgrade, which may be possible as my wife wants an AWD Charger in about a year with NAV. Perhaps I will give her my NAV and I'll get the MyGig system and put a nice .jpeg of something on my wallpaper.

I just haven't decided what it will be. :ninja:

I talked to SilverRT and he stated that the Dodge Logo and many of the graphix are not simple .jpeg files but they are more complex code used to display pictures. So hacking that screen will be quite a task.

However, that isn't the end for me with this interests as we are starting a Graphic Arts department at my school. Perhaps I'll take a course myself or get one of my students or colleagues to do it for me as a class project.
