I was ordering this on crutchfield just earlier..and they came up with this message after I added it to the cart:
"Metra XSVI-6502
Chrysler CAN bus Interface
Supplies the necessary accessory power required for aftermarket receiver installation in select 2005-up Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles
Your vehicle has no accessory power lead at the receiver. The integration adapter provides the accessory power you will need for your new receiver. "
to those of you that have installed aftermarket H/Us, i've not read anywhere that i need something like this...do i? I mean $80 is alot of $$ that i was going to funnel towards speakers since it's just after Xmas and I still have to pay tuition for next semester, the wife's put me on a budget!!
thanks for anyhelp

you didnt say what charger you were driving!!! if you have the basic system in your car then NO you dont need it but will have still run a wire to the switched ing wire at the key. if you have the boston or kicker system then YES you will need this part. BUT it will make it plug and play between your new HU and the factory amp. the wire at the key that you will have to tap to if you have the basic system is pink with a white stripe.

you dont need that part at all than. just use the harness that they send for free for the chryslers and your good to go. but like i said ther is NO switched wire to our radio's. so you will have to run a wire to the key to the pink/white wire. PIECE OF CAKE.

ok..so just run the switched wire off the H/U to the pink/white wire at the key..sounds semi-easy enough..thanks
last h/u i put in was 4 years ago in my 01 Dodge so I appreciate setting a noobie straight!

all lx cars are a switched negative to the radio. your after market needs a switched positive. so drop the panel under the dash and remove the steel crash panel [5 10 mm bolts] then with the key off look up to the right and you will see the back of the key switch. there is a little red lock tab that will push up with a finger nail or small screw driver. once thats unlocked push the black release tab and the harness will pull down to the point were you can work on the harness. then cut the tape and tap the pink/white wire and send it over to the radio and reverse every thing to put it back together. and your done.
