View Full Version : How do I shut off the Nav display?

There have been times that I'd like to sit and just listen to the stereo at night with the engine off ... for example: while "she" is shopping and "the chauffeur" obediently waits for her return ... but the display lights up the inside of the car like a spotlight. Is there a way to dim or turn off the display while having the audio active?

Please excuse if this is a duplicate question. I searched first and couldn't find anything that addressed this.

I think there is a brightness option under the system menu. I can't run out an check right now, but if I remember, I'll check in the AM and let ya know.

also, on the left side of the dash near the head light nob there is a dile to dim the dash lights, this also effects the nav screen brightness.

It appears to only work when the lights are on. With lights off and key in ACC position, I see no effect from the dimmer switch.

OK, I checked it out click on the nav button to get into the menus and click on the settings tab. First should be brightness, and is default to automatic, change this to manual, night colors, then adjust the level down. This substantially reduced the brightness on mine. good luck!

On my car, the "automatic" selection does not change the brightness from daytime to night time. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know how to fix it?

Currently, I have to manually change mine from daytime brightness to night time.

Very annoying.

I think the dimmer switch in what Dodge calls "parade mode" - it allows you to have your headlights on but without dimming the interior lights.

try rotating the dimmer switch down one notch and it should dim the nav screen....

I'm pretty sure mine doesn't do this when the car is off.

Correct, look above where I explained how to do it. It's not that difficult. Good luck!
