Ok, when you hear people talking about Car amps and whatnot sometimes I hear people say that if you not pushing 14V to your amp its not even being ran at optimum levels. Now how woulden't you get 14V to your amp. Putting a meter to a car battery you usually get between 13-14v's anyways. Are they talking about something entirely different? Or how would you go about making sure your amp is getting 14V

The simple version. Some amps are such a power draw do to size and wattage that the alternator cant keep up and they are not getting 14V. This is when you see your lights dimming or flickering.

Most people put Large Caps into there system to help with Voltage drop during heavy draw.

Ok, Cause Im planning on putting 2 15's in my charger and pushing them with 2 HiFonics 2000/4000 amp and I was reading some of the reviews talking about making sure you give them 14v or they aren't even trying..so I just wanted to make sure. What size cap would you recommend? Should I get one to power each amp? or just get a decent sized one and power both amps off 1 cap? Any suggestions?

I have heard the rule of thumb is 1-farad per 1000 watts.

you will have tons more success with a battery like a kinetic than a cap. Caps are really a thing of the past.. you have to have a super efficient cap otherwise you are making your problem worse..
Think of it this way... the cap is just one more thing to charge... in the flow of things...
If you go to stereo forums you will find this out.

So replacing the battery will be better than adding a cap? I've heard of people adding multiple batteries, but I've heard mixed feelings on it. Some people say its another thing to charge and it only helps with the car in not running and that upping the alternater is the way to go. Then other people say like linking 2 Optima yellows together just as good. O in some cases just swapping the standard battery to a yellow top will do people fine. What are some thoughts on that? I know I'm asking for a lot of power, and I dont know what amperage our alternaters are in our chargers. So what would be the best option to do, assuming im going to be pushing 4000W RMS at times, very few but I dont want to look like an idiot and not be able to show off when I want to.
Oh and they have this as well, for 400 bucks and free shipping.

Outer case dimensions are 8.5"W x 8.4"H x 23.25"L. Amp hours: 55@24V or 110@12V. CCA: 750@24V or 1500@12V. Reserve minutes: 120@24V or 240@12V.
So I would remove the spare and clear out that whole undersection like I plan to do, put both of these and the 2 amps under there to have everything hidden. Think that would power it alright? and I read that our cars have a 160amp Alternator.
