Dyno Day???

I am looking at trying to schedule a Dyno Day for sometime in February or March, and I am posting now to see if there is enough interest. I've picked those two months mainly for the V6 guys...to hold off in case Diablo has a V6 tuner out by then. I'd be nice to be able to actually tune our cars, like our HEMI brethern, instead of just dynoing them.

I'm going to contact Dynotuned Performance, Inc. in Chesapeake about hosting the event. If they can't host it, I'll contact Custom Car Care in Yorktown (we had a Dyno Day there back in November of 2006).

I just talked with Frank at DTP, and here's the low-down on the dyno day.

$60 for 3 pulls (dyno only, no tune) - Cash only
$150/hour for tuning - Cash only

If people only want to dyno their cars, without tuning, then there needs to be a miminum of 8 cars. If people want to tune their cars, then a minimum of 5 cars are needed. Frank said that the normal tune takes 1 to 2 hours.

They can also order Predators that can be purchased at the dyno day. They will just need a BIG heads-up with the number needed so that they can order them and get them in.

I will need to get back with them in January to firm up the date.

Also, does anyone have a grill that they could bring out so that we could have a cookout, too?

If Diablo has the V6 tuner out in time, he may be able to get them in for us.

We will need to find someone with a truck to bring a grill down for us.

I have some info on the cost of the Predators through DTP.

I don't want to post it here, because it may violate supporting vendor rules and regulations. So, if you'd like to know what the discounted price could be, PM me your email address and I'll forward you the info.

EDIT: After looking at what different vendors charge for the Predator, the DTP "discount" price will be comparable to the vendors' prices...and won't include/require shipping.

I may have a buddy of mine bringing his Mustang GT to the dyno day. He works at a local Mustang shop and is friends with the guys at DTP. Maybe we can have a "dyno-off" between the 'Stang and a Charger.

Is there a reason we wouldnt be looking at Custom Car Care First?
They did the last Dyno day, and it would be good to have the same setup to judge the previous cars by.
NOTE TO SLEF: Dont be the first car on the dyno, so you end up heat soaked BEFORE they start measuring your numbers...

juanvaldz...I went with DTP in order to get some stuff going on the southside. Nothing against CCC at all. So far, just about everything that's been set up has been on the peninsula. Also, I know that there are some on the southside that don't like having to drive up to the peninsula for everything, so I thought we'd show them some luv. :D
