It was bound to happen, times keep getting lower and lower but now we have a new number to beat. I tried running the gas down the last couple days when I decided I was going to go Tues- Today but still ended up a haid under 3/4 tank Da was about 1700-1900 I'll check in the morning.
Got to also thank B&G for helping me out with my tune, that box has been back and forth about 4 or 5 times now I've been driving Dave crazy

Excellent times...the new champion is crowned! It was fun tonight. Anytime I can lay some more rubber down for you to launch from just let me know.
...I ran a few more times after you left but the prep was just breaking down so I didn't get any better times. ...actually my first run for the night ended up as my best.

I am getting my sidewinder installed on friday, and should be getting my diablo with in a week or two and going to the track at the end of the month. With my currant mods I ran a 13.7 @ 102 on a 70 degree day, I am hoping with my new mods and with temps in the 50's that I can get low 13's and I would be thrilled if I got in the 12's.

Thanks and I can tell you from our run before that, that your taillights are working perfectly

LOL, isn't it ironic how the truly quick people are usually the ones who talk the least trash and are the most gracious in the sport? (well, usually, there are always exceptions but in general...)
It's usually us 13 and 14 second slowpokes that get involved in the bitchfests...
Congrats to you both for excellent performances...

Al, tremendous effort man. You knocked the ball way out of the park and decimated two of the 5.7 records...both the 1/8 and 1/4 ET on the same run.

I envy that 1.7x 60' you got on the runs...............someday I hope to achieve that level of greatness!!! My best on stock tires is a 2.01 60'.

Hard to tell I did the Heads,Cam, TC,and Drag radials all in 1 shot
FWIW, the elevation of Dragway 42 is 1100 ft. ... so this isn't a ATCO sea level aided accomplishment. It's the real deal. My impression is just as I found that the modded LS1 > the LS2 that so is the modded 5.7 R/T > the SRT8.

A handfull of modded 5.7's make more power than stock SRT8's

5.7's with mods - an awesome thing!
6.1's with mods - a scary thing!
Fact is, the 6.1 is already turned up from the factory.
There is more untapped potential in the 5.7.
Add heads, headers, cam, etc. to a 6.1 = 40 - 70 RWHP
Add heads, headers, etc.cam to a 5.7 = 80 - 120 RWHP
Before you start raising the BS flag RE the 5.7 #s, takes JonzMgnm for example. Sidewinder cam, Mopar Performance heads, superchips & complete JBA shorties/catback = 382 RWHP
My combo = 387 RWHP
Inferal's combo = 392 RWHP
What is the base # for the 5.7, 270 RWHP?
Same level of tune as far as cam, compression, etc. the 6.1 will make 20-30 more RWHP than a 5.7. That coupled W/the 300# weight deficite for the beefier bklock etc. of the SRT makes it a pretty even match. The SRT will still have a 9% gearing advantage.

No doubt the 5.7 responds better to mods than the 6.1. Ive seen it time and time again at the track. Trust me, I aint happy about it :)

Are you thinking of any particulkar 5.7s you've seen @ the track Dan?
One place the 6.1 outshines the 5.7 is as a base for nitrous or forced induction.
No way would I try to spray or squeeze a highly modified 5.7.
The beefier internals of the 6.1 make it a much better candidate for those options albeit the higher CR does present a few limitations.
If they made a low compression 6.1 truck engine you could spray or squeese the he!! out of it W/O as much likelyhood of detonation. @ least there would be cheap low CR pistons available then.

Great job Al. The F.R.I'd packages ran some super times this weekend. As it gets cooler things will get faster. Once the Diablo comes out and everyone can get some good custom tunes, 11's may be doable.
It'd be lots of fun to, hear of, or better yet, to see a few F.R.I'd 5.7's run at the same track.
Again CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

I am "assuming" that means one w/out the forged rotating assembly???? Or does that apply to that scenario as well?:nervous s

I was refering to the stock rotating assembly.
A forged rotating assembly could be put together to withstand the extra stress, especialy when kept to a more appropriate < 9:1 CR for forced induction or just a bit higher CR for over 100HP juice shots.

I am doing 10.5:1 right now....Stock Internals. Which is why I am doing the rotating assembly upgrade this winter.....

Did you try the Mopar TCM yet
Nope.....it's sittin on the shelf next to the PCM, waiting on the arrival of the "tuned" Diablo, which is over by the Viper Rods & Connectors, right below the Steel forged Crank in the box next to the new Torque convertor by the place that's waiting for the 8-manley pistons that are on route and "suppose" to be here "soon".......................
