Well looks like I'm going to get re stationed over there, should be Landstuhl (Kaiserlautern Area). But was wondering if anyone has a charger with the warranty or maxcare warranty, and if they are still good? I know they are Dodge dealerships around but don't remember seeing any near Landstuhl.

Dont know if they have a dodge dealership down in that area but i know the German Chrysler dealer here in Schweinfurt and another one in Bamberg are very good with my car.
But I know there are a few Chargers down in that area and also some car clubs, I am sure someone there will be able to help you out. I can definitely find out for you though. Give me a couple of days.

Thanx for the update, not sure when I will be getting over there, hopefully around February if everything works out. Good to see there is a good number of chargers over there. I'm probably lose on this, but do you know if they honor the max care warranty over there, or any part of it? I guess it doesn't matter either way what ever I get I will have to deal with, its the whole hope for the best plan for the worst thing. Another question is there any other SRT8's owners over there, I just need to know what they did for their spare tire?
my buddy is stationed in ger. i can email him to ask around.
army lunatic. ;)

I am not sure about the max care warranty but they do take care of the factory warranty if thats the same thing. There are a few SRT8's floating around, I have seen a SuperBee owned by a German and also the dealership here has one running for 58000 euro which is about 80000 dollars. I have seen a couple of people here on the forums that had SRT8's that are also stationed here in Germany.

Thanx, maxcare is an upgraded form of the warranty, just no $100 deductible, w/free rental and towing. I can possibly see the 100 deductible coming off, but not to worried about rental, was there last time and pretty cheap, plus the system they have over they like AAA isn't bad either. Also just trying to find out where everyone on these boards in Germany are located. Since I will be in Landstuhl/K-town area, but my Company is out of Heidelberg.

We have to take our cars to the tuev on the military installation, I believe they are a little less strict when it comes to checking our vehicles.

You already know where you are going a year and a half out? Thats crazy. I will be here for 6 years in November 2009 and should be out the door by then. Maybe we will run into each other.

Yeah, Since I'm taking a remote tour to Korea, they give us "preference" on a follow on... they try to let us know before we leave. I won't get to Germany until Dec 09 probably though. Graf is a little stretch from the KMC, lol. We send people from the AOC to an exercise there.

So, is the factory warranty still good there? I just got an 06 srt-8 and will be in Ramstein in April. The warranty is good thru August and I was going to extend it to 5y/50k m but the dealership told me it wasn't honored in Germany. Iknow that dealership aren't know for there honesty but they could have made another $1400 if they haven't told me that. I should probably just call Dodge.

I just left Ramstein last year. I didn't have my Charger there but I did have my Ram and had it serviced several times in K-town. I used the dealer M. u. M. Mattusch GmbH located at Hertelsbrunnenring 31, Kaiserslautern 67657. They do great work, are very professional, and the prices were reasonable considering it was a dealer and the Euro was killing the Dollar at the time. The dealership is also easy to find if you are familar with K-town.

I'm headed to Ramstein in Oct 09, and am considering whether to bring my Charger.
Cannot seem to find any solid info regarding light conversions and any mods they may require to get it to pass inspection.
Can anyone shed some light on this process and costs? I had a car altered in Britain and it was never the same, and Army Charger, your car doesn't look altered at all. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

You do not have to do any conversions to your vehicle.
* But aftermarket front tint is illegal, they just changed that law not to long ago.
* Depending on what year your car is, it may not have to get inspected.
* My old 300, when It finally had to get inspected, I had to get the headlights adjusted. American specs aimed the head lights to high.
* The only issue with cars over here is those that buy German Spec Vehicles and want to take them back to the states. Now your talking windshield, catalytic converters, instrument cluster yada yada.
* They do full inspections on cars over a certain age. Brake test, E-Brake, suspension, lights, the whole 9 yards.
* But if you car is in good shape, the only thing you may need is your headlights aimed a tad lower.

Cool. I have a 2006, and the only mods i've done is the air filter and diablo predator. I was considering tinting it and an AFE intake, but will hold off.
Needs new rubber... do you recommend i wait on that or just get it done over here? I've read where the German rubber is better quality and they may check for "e" stamp on the tires.
Thanks again..

Never heard anyone having issues with the tires, Unless you get in an accident in the winter months with all season or summer tires, then you may be held at fault. The inspection is done on post, I've never heard of an "E" stamp and I'm going on 7 years here. If your running 20's I'd recommend now getting some "Z" rated tires.
AND!!!!!!!! Shop around and pick up some new drilled Rotors and new pads, good pads!
If you hit the Autobahn and get up to 100+ and hit the brakes hard kiss your rotors good bye. I've done it. I now have new Stillen Rotors and ceramic brake pads.
They only check for safety. When I came back from Iraq in October and registered our new cars they handed me a sticker. Its some sorta vehicle type=emissions sticker. I think it has more to do with when you visit the big cities.
You cannot have tint on the front windows, it's peeved a lot of people because everyone has had to remove the front tint come inspection time. The rear passenger and back window is fine.
Shop for what you want for your car now. Its hard to get over sized parts shipped here and alot of performance shops won't ship to APO. For stillen to ship my Rotors it cost me $160.00 bucks damn near the cost of one set of rotors
A lot of guys mod thier vehicles over here rolling on 22's, exhaust, Its not as bad as you think. Germans are really big on safety especially brakes because of the high speeds on the autobahn and the Oh ****z everyone just stopped after doing 100mph on the autobahn.
Radar detectors I think are illegal, but guess what they pick up the cameras and hidden radars. I just came back from a 9000 mile road trip while on leave stateside so after my first and only ticket in figgin Louisiana I got a Good Passport RD for the rest of the trip and it works well over here.

If you need parts for you cars try going to this website.
www.discountautoparts.com
I was stationed OCONUS from 2004-2008 (Iceland, Italy, Germany) and ordered parts through them for my Ram 1500. They ship to APO, takes about a week, and if I remember right it is free shipping if your order is $100 or more. Bulky items don't matter. I ordered breaks and rotors from them when I was in Italy and they shipped no problem. Now the Airmen at the post office weren't too happy to see them!!!
I also once ordered tires (20") through another website and had them shipped to Iceland. Can't remember it off the top of my head but if you want it I can look for it.
Hope this helps.
