CG - did you just move to Des Moines? I ask only because the picture in your sig was taken around here (Phoenix) somewhere, with a couple of Saguaro's in the background.

What, you've never seen a corn field before? I have family down there and the've been there almost all their life and none have ever seen a tornado. They've heard about them hitting neighboring towns, but they haven't seen one themselves (I forget what town they live in, but I'm going down there for a graduation party in a month).

Hey you all forgot about them hey fields

Tornados are nothing to worry about respect them yes and seek shelter when one is near by. The ones that get hurt and killed are those hanging outside taking video of them. I believe that falls under natural selection. I have seen a few and the thing I would worry about is hail and wind damage. Iowa is great you will get all four seasons. Wish it was summer in the winter and wish it was winter in the summer, or at lest that’s what most of the good old farms say. Let me be one of the first to say it welcome to Iowa.

I forgot about the hay fields....

I've got a graduation party to go to in Laurens, IA this coming sunday. Its going to be a little over 3 hours one way (about 170 miles). Still trying to figure out my best route (if I still had my truck, I'd just short cut it thru one of the huge corn fields :D )...

Well, at least this area of Iowa has more then just corn fields:) There is a lot more to do here then I thought. There are so many restaurnats, develpoments, shopping centers, malls and other brand new things. It's amazing how much is so new and to see all the construction. It's going to be booming here in 5 years.

We just got back to San Diego after a trip to Iowa. The Charger handled really well. We didn't see to many Chargers in Iowa although did see a sweet SRT in Clear Lake. the dodge dealer in Mason City had 2 sxt's on the lot and that was about all I saw in North Iowa. We got alot of looks in my home town and everyone was asking what it was.

How do you guys get rid of the dead bug stains? I am still trying to buff them out. We rarely have that issue in San Diego.

YellowBlack07
09-06-2006, 06:06 AM
I have always just presoaked them with soap and kept it wet while washing the rest of the vehicle. Then when your ready for the grill area and mirrors they pretty much wash off with a few exceptions. That is just my method. They have "special bug spray" I did try it once. I didn't notice a big difference for the price they were.

That was me! My daughter was skating at Skate North as they were off for spring break and I went watch her.

You hardly see any SRT8's at all around Des Moines. Very surprised.

Do you happen to work on 100th St? I see an 2006 Top Banana there at the Recreation Room about every day. I work just down the street from there.

Not me, I work down town just a few blocks from the I-Cubs. Your most likey to spot ours up around the Windsong Theater

I've seen a black SRT on the I-235 a number of times on my way into down town.
I also noticed a GoMango Daytona that parks in a lot on the north side of MLK at 9th st.

I saw a certain yellow Super Bee about 1:30 today at 100th and Douglas, then another yellow Dayona at the Walgreens at 86th and Merideth. Ours was home tucked into it's nice warm garage.:) To many puddles around

Kleo- That was probably me again. I was out around 1:30-3:00 in that area. I went driving BEFORE I ended up at the car wash, then home to dry/clean. My car got all dirty Saturday driving in the rain to get my windows tinted......

I did see another Bee on Hickman, Sunday too. Only thing that threw me off was that it did NOT have the hood decals. It had the rear Super Bee decal though. I did not know they made Bee's with no hood decals.

Sounds awesome to me.

We should set a date during the week perhaps 2 weeks out or something and let everyone know from the des moines area and have a meet and greet. It could only be for a few hours or something. or perhaps a sunday. That way everyone could still have their weekends. Then after the intial M&G we could have another one.. maybe at porkys or something...

Wouldn't that be something... One side all Chargers...

Then we could do the same on our bikes...

Any suggestions ?

Saw your car parked in the corner of the Bucs lot, Friday Night.
Also saw the 07 Sublime Charger Saturday morning over at Ashworth and 50th. He crossed the light in front of me. He did not even look over at me. I was waving but perhaps he did not see me.

Let's try to hook up the end of mid May when the weather is more stable. Let's plan on something around Mid May or so. Like you said, even if it's for a few hours eating dinner somewhere or hooking up at Porkey's during the day on a Saturday.

Richelieu,

Good to hear... search the forum for all kind of great mods. Some are real easy and inexpensive. A couple of us in the des moines area are trying to get a meeting together.. let us know of your interests...

helpfull hint on some mods.
Depending on your budget... I would recommend the brycleem mod for your exhaust for starters... it should be $100 or less and it makes the car sound a ton better. (more like a hemi)

Also the noesp mod computer chip is great and works well. well worth the $50 bucks... easy to install too.

Nick

Hey Iowa Guys,

What do you have for window tint? I'm getting mine done next Tuesday and tentatively have it set at 50 front two windows, 35 rear windows...

Has anyone gone 35's on their front windows?

Bucs012
06-11-2007, 08:59 AM
I think 1BADASS has 35 on his front windows.

You know, I went 50% on my rear and back side windows. Have not thouched the front/sides though. Too worried about tickets from police. Some people I talk to get tickets and warned. Some don't.......Sure would like to get my front side windows tinted though. Also, there are sure A LOT of cars/trucks that have their front side windows tinted. Dark too!

how's it going? My front windows are tinted 50% and the back 3 are tinted 5%. I actually know some guys that do tinting.. it is the same guy that did my car.. it turned out great..
I'm actually going to add a 6" stip accross the front windshield. I see a couple cars on here that have them and i like it alot.. not to mention it should help with the sun and heat.

let me know if you would like me to contact them for you.
