Starting in January we will be getting into the planning for the 2006 Big East Coast Meet and at this point we would like to get all of your feedback in order to help us plan the event tailored to all of you who will be in attendance. We tentatively have 3 locations and date that we are throwing around but this doesn't rule out other dates and times. We can do three types of events.

We can plan a weekend event to coincide with the May Ocean City, MD event which features a lot of older cars but there's plenty of late-models and it's a city-wide event with cars shows, parties and 24 hour cruising plus it's a beach resort so the whole family can come:

This weekend's a blast. Another alternative is to set up a weekend event to coincide with the Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle, PA. This wouldn't be until the weekend after the Fourth of July but this is also a full weekend event but it is more car oriented and not as much of a family event (though the family is encouraged to come). The plus to Carlisle is that we will probably be able to get the most DCX participation at this location. Here's a link to the Carlisle event:

I'm still waiting on Englishtown to give us their info on their May Dodge event. Our past events have been held at Englishtown and they are planning a big event for May that is supposed to be on the level of a Dodge National's event. Englishtown gives us a little bit more to work with when we attend there and we should be able to do either a one-day Saturday event or a weekend event. Plus, Englishtown will probably be the only location that we can get some track-time in at.

We're planning a big event with a good bit of manufacturer participation and appearances and we're hoping to draw members and guests from mainly this side of the Mississippi but I already know of some forum members that will be flying out from the West Coast. Our past events have drawn countless members from 5, 6 even 10 up to hours away so we know that if we can set up a full weekend event, it helps you guys traveling further to justify the trip. For now, we want your feedback since this event is put on for you guys.

Another question is: do you want to open up this meet to any other late model Dodge/Chrysler cars? If so, what?

Big Bob, do you have anything to add?

Thanks everyone!
Joshua, HHP

You mentioned the race track at Etown. Are you referring to the 1/4 mile or the new road course that is slated to be opened this coming year? If it is the later do you have dates of when that might be? That would be a definate draw for bragging rights!

WHat is the benefit of DCX support?

Would this a weekend event or a one day deal? Any costs or discounts...?

We will probably only be on Englishtown's 1/4 mile dragstrip since the costs of getting on the road course are going to be pretty high. We're hoping to get an event on the road coarse at a later date but it will be a much smaller event because we would almost have to have the whole track rented out and the event would need to be planned more as a driving school or track-experience type of event because of the limitations on the number of cars on the track and all of the legal issues involved.

The benefits of DCX support are more for the planning and potential funding or advertising since these events cost money to put on - plus if there is an attendance fee, the more support we receive from DCX and the manufacturers, the less you guys pay to attend. We would like to keep these events, at least the basics such as the shows, free like we've been doing. In the past we have supported these events ourselves as our way of HHP giving back to our customers for your support of HHP but as the event grows, we need to bring in outside supporters in the form of manufacturers and others involved in the LX world to help compensate the costs of the event and the prizes and giveaways we want to have.

We can plan a one day event or a weekend event depending on what you guys want. That's one of the things we hope to learn through this pole. Do you guys want a one-day event or a weekend event? If there's enough support for a weekend event we can do a Friday through Sunday event and we will work out deals for hotel reservations, dinner reservations, etc. Each event is different but each event also offers something that the others don't.

Thanks!
Joshua, HHP

There's always Macungie in August.

There's always Macungie in August.Macungie looks really cool but it's more of a classic car event. Us "youngsters" with our late-models and our rock 'n roll, lol, don't get as warm of a reception at these events unless they are a full open-class event.

..............

................................................. ..................Yes thanks Josh for giving the people of this and other forums the opportunity to express their opinions for the best time, place and shape of the Year's biggest and best GTG. Now it is up to us to use the pole so we can not only plan the GTG but maybe plan to have rally's to the event from different States and Canada, would make a fun ride there too. Very nice to have more then 1 event this upcoming year, as for myself I already have reservations in PA for July and will go to that O.C. party. Even without the date from E- Town I think it may be our best bet, great location and plenty of room. Northeastern08 had a good idea to maybe make it a 2 day event with racing one day and the GTG the other or both day's race and GTG, and that's what we need, Idea's and opinions from all. Great job Josh on getting the word out!.... Big Bob

I go to Leesport in Feb. every year with my Dad. Not a bad show for parts. My Dad sells a lot of old Mopar stuff.

Leesport is not that far.
