This was my second time at GLD, but only my first time racing there. I have to honestly say, it was the single greatest experience at a drag stripe since my first time at at Byron.

Only that one red car looked silly, specially when they were doing 6 second burn outs before hand while I'm sitting at the lights waiting. :rolleyes:

There were a couple of true race cars out there, but they let those run by themselves. There was one Camaro running 13.6 and a couple of Trans Am's I didn't see run, but I never got a chance to go against them. I was only running 14.3's thanks to the heat and humidity.

It was actually suppose to rain all day yesterday. As soon as Jen and I saw it was going to be clear and that girls got in free on Tuesday, we scrambled to get everything together and raced up there to get in at 5pm. I was kind of surprised that we were the second car there. :D

I never made it up there last Friday. I was running behind all day and by the time we were able to go and get on the road, we ran into a wall of traffic before we could even get to 294. We were afraid we wouldn't have gotten there until 7:00 and since no one else was going up, we decided to go out for dinner and see Transformers instead.

If the weather forcast looks clear for next Tuesday, I might plan on heading back up there!

Sounds like a plan. Out of the blue last night my wife decides she wants to try the dragstrip. SURE now that I have the SRT8! Didn't want to with the R/T? WTF!:knockout: Guess I leave HAL on:lol:

You can't blame her! :) The girls run for trophies on Tuesday nights, too.. The fastest car I saw them running was only 14 seconds.

Why not let her try and win some hardware. :D

I'm going to keep my eyes on the weather, but either way, Byron meet is next Saturday. Hopefully one day or the other brings me some kind weather.

The poor guy's bike left with out him! I was too busy reviewing the first picture to see him cartwheel off his bike and roll over on his head. He got up pretty fast though and the only thing he injured was his pride.
