So as some of you know I said v6 owners would be the only ones poser enough to pretend they have something in which they do not.
Well I was wrong....I hang my head in shame. This is a sad, sad day for us R/T guys.
I was out in NYC for a few days on business and just got back. I had to walk everyday to where the convention was being held...only a few blocks through times square(forgot how amazing NYC is when you have been in FL for a long as i have) and low and behold I see a Midnight Metallic R/T or so i thought! Upon closer inspection i see an SRT8 badge on the rear! I nearly crapped my pants.
Not a week earlier I claimed my brethren would never do such a thing! I continued to look at the car with disbelief. I then said to myself...no wait this has to be a v6, complete with hemi badges, and R/T owner cant...wouldnt, couldnt do this!!
But again I was wrong I went as far to look under the car, got down on my stomach (imagine this in the middle of times square with people all over the place, I felt retarded but I hey) to make sure the dual exhaust wasnt the fake v6 mopar dual exhaust, but it wasnt! I then just stood back and walked away, head down, pride hurt and my tail dragging between my legs. I still cant get over it. I wonder if they are on this forum....
This was a sad, sad day.........

I dont think its such a big deal I mean its there car.Alot of people on this forum by the SRT8 wheels and put then on ,along with the hoods. And it looks really good even though its an R/T or a SE. Not everyone can afford a SRT8.
I can't afford a castle even though it'd be really cool to have one. So instead I built a moat around my house and made my front door lower like a castle gate over the moat.
Cosmetic pieces are cool whatever, but putting badges on a car trying to be something it's not is the ultimate in ******ry. The it's his money and car, so why do you care is the lamest excuse ever for this new charger trend.

But isn't the 6.1 a "true" Hemi? That would make the 5.7 a "not so true Hemi". Lets remember Hemi is short for Hemispherical... the 5.7 should be called the Cresi.. as in more Crescent shaped. Right?! Sticks and stones brother... sticks and stones.

If they want to go the SRT why not put the SRT6 badge on there car, designating it at least a 6 and not a 8.
sheeesh dont fake the funk if you have a 6 and wannabe an 8..
do something original.....
wait, now someone somewhere will go out and try this bright idea.....

I'm gonna have to break down and buy the 2006 SRT8 wheels. I absolutely love the look. They won't do well for the 245/45 by 275/40 staggered setup I wanted and they will say SRT on 'em but I can't help myself. Those are just gorgeous wheels. I haven't found anything in the aftermarket that does it quite so right. R/T only or not, I think they're goin' on.
As for the hood... Ram Air > SRT imo

I have to say, I'm with the majority, here, I have the SRT hood, and although there's slowly more and more chargers, coming up, I have yet to see, an identical clone to my daytona. It seems not everyone is willing to drop 2K on a hood. What that have done for me. My daytona is exclusive, I wouldn't waste my time rebadging, in fact that thought has not even cross my mind.
The hood, for the daytona and SRT8 is what should have came with these cars, that crap of a hood sticker if just wrong Dodge. Daytona deserve that SRT hood, all of them, not just mine.
The SRT hood could have been designed different double snout maybe, while the Daytona got the single. I'm just saying.
What all this come down to, is if you got the cash to customize, then handle your business. If you want to keep explaining and I know they will constantly and consistently ask is that an SRT each and every day over and over again, then maybe you'll remove the badging.
As for my Daytona with the SRT hood, it is never ever I say ever confuse with an SRT. They know it's a Daytona Charger. One exceptionally looking Charger Daytona

Nice Mod it looks good............
But at least you are keeping it real by keeping it a Daytonaand saying its a Daytona......and thats all we are trying to get across, why call it something its not and never will be...............
If it was meant to be an SRT then it would have rolled off the assembly line as one........ no matter what size engine you put in it or what ever it is done to it.................
An SRT Charger will never be a Viper and so on.......

I was able to fall into a sweet deal on a set of SRT8 wheels/tires, suspension, hood, and front fascia....$2000 for ALL!!!!
The suspension, wheels, and grill are on now(bought the grill before this sweet deal).
I'm planning on painting the hood and fascia soon, and on they go.
I'm doing this not to try and pose(even though I've nicknamed my project "Project Poser"), but because I think the SRT's look friggin sweet.
I WOULD NEVER PUT ON SRT BADGES THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In fact, I've debadged/demolded her except for the R/T badge!
Some may think I'm a loser, but man is she lookin good!!!!
By the way, my SRT fascia aint gonna have no rams head, gonna fill it baby:yes:

A "Hemi" is any engine named such by Dodge. Big difference between something given a name by a manufacturer, and just some end user hanging a tag on a six banger and calling it an SRT8. Your logic is quite flawed.

The truth is the majority of people will never afford to have exactly what they want. If you weren't happy with the six cylinder, why buy it? If you get the badging you don't have the spoiler. If you buy the spoiler, you don't have the hood. If you buy the hood, you don't have the front fascia. If you buy the front fascia, you don't have the interior. If you buy the interior, you don't have the suspension. If you buy the suspension, you don't have the SRT wheels. If you buy the wheels, you don't have the Brembo brakes. If you buy the brakes, you don't have the 6.1 V8. If you buy the 6.1 V8, you might as well have spent the $40 plus thousand dollars to get the SRT8. Without the whole package all you will ever have is a well dressed SRT8 poser. Next time buy something you're happy with. I bought a 600 pound sow from a guy one time. When I got that sow home and cleaned off all the mud she had caked on her, she was still a 600 pound sow. She just looked a little better. She did yield 60 pound hams and lots of bacon and sausage though.

This is a similar story but on two wheels...
I had a Honda CBR600F2 some years back (oh my GOD do I miss it) when I lived in ABQ, New Mexico. One day I came out to jump on and drive to work and it was gone! I about crapped myself.
Anyhow, after about 2 weeks, the cops found it somewhere in another part of town COMPLETELY trashed. Some fool got their hands on it and abused the snot out of it. When I went to go check it out to assess the damage, I saw something I never thought I'd see.
The moron who stole it apparently wanted to convince his buddies he had a bigger bike than a 600cc, so he cut out the '6' from the CBR600 emblem and turned it upside-down (crooked, no less!!) to make it look like a '9'. Unfriggin believable! As distraught that I was to see my bike trashed out like it was, I couldn't help but roar when I saw this!

HemiChargerDaytona and RTracer: Where did you guys get your hoods? I had a metal framed picture fall on and gouge the hood on my Daytona last weekend. I have decided to upgrade to a ram air hood and I like the look of the SRT-8 hood the best. Never was really into the raised cowl on the RamAir brand hood (not knocking the hood, just not quite my pref) and others.

I'm actually getting the SRT-8 front faschia on my R/T. Old man ran a red light and hit me, so I figured I'd use the insurance to help me upgrade. Anyways, the body shop was like "It comes with the SRT-8 badge" I was like, "Hells no..." that would be supreme frontin'... Anyone who does that is a poseur and missing the point - the only people who are gonna care are gonna be real Charger Heads who will immediately know the difference. I bet this person has other pathological issues...
ALl I have to say about clones is illustrated in the folowing info from a Barrett-Jackson auction:
A 1965 Belvedere 318 was restored with a crate 426 Hemi and the GTX badging, and brought over 150K at auction. Without the crate motor and badge a NICE one is worth about 15k.
Now, unlikely as our generation Chargers are to hold a collector value, the clone market for badging and original parts is huge, in both MOPAR and Ford circles. I myself had a 94 Cobra with the FULL Saleen ground effect kit, Saleen wing, front facia, reverse hood scoop etc. with Cobra R wheels. It was just a regular old Cobra though, and when you looked inside the interior was the cheapo tweed. I had a 3.83 gear and an exhaust that convinced everyone it WAS a Saleen when it left them at the light. The difference was mine shut off at 120mph, unlike the REAL Saleens.

I gotta tell ya.... I dont mind this as much as some. If you wish you coulda had an SRT8 but could only afford the v6, do what you want. Liken it to walking past Larimor's (an expensive mens shop in Pittsburgh) I see a blue suit, Cream shirt, and orange tie. Man thats a nice set up, but I cant afford to pay 2000$ for a suit. So I go find a 200$ blue suit from Macy's, cream shirt from JC penney, and Orange tie from Sears. Same look, only paid a tenth. When a person who knows their clothes looks at it, they'll say "thats an inexpensive suit you can tell by the cut" But 99.9% of people will just appreciate the look. I see replica's of famous old cars all the time, I've never heard anybody talk about any of them.

I do mind it personally! My first MOPAR was a 1968 Roadrunner, not a rebadged Bellvedere which would have cost considerably less. No, I didn't pose it as a Superbird either. It was completely stock, including the bench seat and column shifter!

I have the R/T charger and I will put replicas str8 wheels on it and I will put the halo rings lights. But not like the nissans, toyotas, lexus, volkwagens, I will be driving a Hemi, and just being me. Those that paid the price for Str8 you still have to obey the speed limits just like me. I am a trendsetter the pack follows me. People should remember the greatest flatterey is copying the real thing. But then their are people who beg to be different and then their are Str8 fakers... who you chose to be is up to your pocketbook and taste.

This all goes back to who are you trying to fool...or who you are trying to impress?
Look if you cant afford $2000 dollar suit and want the look of one thats fine.
If you want the look of the SRT8 and add the hood, fascia's thats fine its still going to cost you, a badge is cheap. But just know you are only fooling yourself, by trying to impress others. If you cant be happy with what you have you have much deeper problems then wanting to add badges to your car. You (not saying you chargeit) have an Inferiority Complex. People who do these type of things do indeed feel that way.
If you feel like a BIG SHOT that you have a badge on your car that says SRT8 when its only a V6 or in this case an R/T then again..you are only fooling yourself by trying to be a big shot, when you are nothing more then a wannabe. I have no respect for people like that.

Not a good analogy........ I'm sure you wouldn't buy the tags or labels from the $2K suit and sew them on to the cheap one. Doing so would be the same as putting SRT-8 or Hemi or RT badges on a V6. Just buying things that look like something expensive ($200 suit, SRT hood, Spoiler, etc.) is no big deal, trying to fool people into thinking you have the real deal, is.

So its that simple? The badge shows whether you're a poser or not? I can do ALL the other things that make it look like an SRT, but putting the 10$ badge on makes me a poser? Like I said I dont have a problem with it at all, I cant afford a Lamborghini, but I've put serious thought into buying a replica... maybe it is to make people think I have one... And would you put a Ralph Lauren tag on a Macy's suit, "NO" because NOT ONE person is gonna see SEE THE TAG but you will still look good.............Any anyone buying a $2000 suit can have that damn suit, i can use that money to buy parts for my SRT

And would you put a Ralph Lauren tag on a Macy's suit, "NO" because NOT ONE person is gonna see SEE THE TAG but you will still look good.............Any anyone buying a $2000 suit can have that damn suit, i can use that money to buy parts for my SRT
But you dont see me running out and buying a "Super Bee" sticker for the side of my car, why..............because its not.

What about people buying "cloned" 70 hemi Challengers for $100,000+??? Even though they have Hemi in them aren't they a "poser" as well. As you said, they did not come from the factory that way.
I personally think some of you need a hobby, and need to let people do to thier cars what they think is "cool".
Also dodge has a SRT package for the 300C this year, that includes SRT badges....(according to thier site) are they posers as well?????

I was refering to the people speanding over $100,000 to buy a "Cloned" hemi challenger. Those did not come from the factory that way, some had 6cyl's in them.
Also the SRT option group offered on the 300C this year, is the same package as the R&T on the Charger, but comes with "SRT" badging (as per chrysler.com)

But if someone likes the look of one why put them down.
people clone all the "great cars". '70 Hemi Challengers, GT500's... the list goes on. I just don't get why some people get so pissed. If you don't like it, don't do it, but there is no need to call someone names or put them down because they do. Thats just being a bully.

IMO, I don't agree with putting badges that depict a car to be something it's not, like putting SRT8 (6.1L) badges on a non-SRT8 (5.7L, 3.5L, 2.7L, etc) Charger (or 300). BUT,the SRT badge hat comes with the design option is not referring to the engine, but the design option, hence the badge is "SRT" versus "SRT8".
So really, I liken this to putting a SRT8 hood on a non-SRT8 car, which means....who cares??? IMO

Well sort of. So every morning on my way into work I see this drop top 03-04 "Cobra" but I am sceptical because he has 17" GT wheels on it. It has the bumpers, logo's the whole nine. The car looks legit other than the wheels. It is slammed pretty low so I can get a good look at the exhaust or rear suspension to see if it is the real deal. Well today I make a right turn and I end up right behind him, but we are in a 30mph zone. We catch a red light but we are both turning left. When he takes off I noticed that the car doesn't have that usual Cobra sound. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC! If you know anything about mustangs you know Cobra's don't have auto's. We finally make it out to a larger road and merge and there is no traffic. I guess he felt me on his bumper a floors it. So I get on it. It seems like it took forever for the car to downshift. ( I know I should have autosticked it) I hear him shift as I am coming around him and my car had just started pulling hard on him. He looks over at me and lets out. I get caught in traffic at the next light and he uses the opportunity to put some distance between us. I am sure there will be more to follow. I see this guy almost everyday.

I was in Orlando the other day when I thought my eyes were playing trick on me. Nope it was a Inferno red R/T with get this Daytona markings on the side. I was like WHAT? Nooo. oh wow. The sticker on the trunk is what really tossed my cookies. It was divided right down the center not with paint showing between the cracks. Didn't even bother to take the badges off and then replace them. Nope, cut the sticker to right around the Charger and R/T badges. Never got a look at the hood, but I did atleast notice dual exhaust (like my wifes Daytona.)
If anyone that has a Samsung A900 blade can tell me how to get photos off the phone I have two nice pics of the rear and side rear. I'll block out the license plate as to not totally embarass him if he's on here.

I assume the real issue is the words Daytona on the rear flanks. Or is it the fact that there is a poorly installed decal on the truck? This spring I intend to get the decal kit for the hood truck and rear flanks for my Inferno Red Charger R/T with R&T. The flanks will not say Daytona though. I am thinking either Road and Track or Charger R/T. I have not yet decided. Oh yeah, I'm also getting the Daytona/SRT8 rear spoiler. I think it will look great and not like something it's not, a Daytona.

It was a black Charger with a flat black rear spoiler (Daytona style) and had a yellow SUPER BEE (opposit of the real thing) quarter hockey stick decal. The car had a R/T emblem on the trunk and factory dual resonators. I did get right beside it with my window down. The car sounded like a "creamed" V6. By the sound of the car, it was loud enough that I could hear it was a V6. With having stock rear resonator mufflers I figured he used a R/T exhaust with the "BRYLCREAM mod. Hence, my description as a "creamed V6"

No, just go all out and put the "SVT" emblems on there instead.
And just for the record, I had a Mercury Sable for my company car and I believe it was the "POS" model. Too many problems with it to list.

I went to the Doctor this morning and on the way I saw the BIGGEST POSER there ever could be. I wish I had my camera with me. You guys would laugh. Unfortunatly I could not get in front to see if is was a SE or SXT. I was not able to see if the car had HEMI emblems but it definatly sounded like a V6. I was in my Taurus so I could hear pretty clear that it was not a HEMI.
That's my new SE, ya like? I was thinking of bringing it to the next DC meet and greet, but I am waiting until my stick on port holes and road runner emblems come in to REALLY complete the look. Want to come help me install them? JWEEZY helped me get that Bee vinyl made, sent me to his guy.

I'm not trying to start anything, since I'm new but what is the difference between the SXT guy doing whatever he did to dress up his car to whatever his tastes are and R/T guys putting SRT8 hoods and rims on their cars?

The difference is rebadging it. It is like taking a $1 bill and drawing two zeros after the one and trying to buy something for $100. But putting SRT8 rims or hood on an RT is like drawing a mustache and beard on the face of a dollar. You are making it look better, not trying to pass as something you are not. Kinda like your Rt Rims on your car. But that is my opinion, its your car, do what you want.

There is NO problem with anyone putting on a different hood or wheels(i.e. SRT8 stocks) to make there car look better. IMO there are no better looking wheels than the srt's. The problem ppl have is when they start to "re-badge" there car. Like the car Hemidon was talking about in his OP. He said there were superbee decals on something that DEFINATELY was not a superbee. that is where most ppl see the problem.

Great minds think alike, lol.
It's all about the badging. Putting on 20in Rims, spoilers, and hood mods are changing the looks. Rebadging your car though is basically lying to everyone about what you own. Somewhere out there right this minute there's an Eclipse owner posting "I smoked an Charger R/T" on a Mitsu forum... I feel it. Damn you Kevin Ross!!!

Yep, it finally happened. Was on the way to lunch w/ the wife in the Xterra (she picks me up for lunch) when I saw it. White Charger with a side badge that said "5.7 Liter HEMI" (5.7 Liter part on top) goes by. I notice the wheels sure look like the standard SE rims. Then I notice the single exhaust and realize I had just met me first poseur.
Happened in McKinney, TX, 'burb of Dallas, at about 12:20 pm yesterday on 380. For whatever reason, I don't see all that many Chargers around here as on our side of town the lux brands are much more popular, i.e. more G35's than I care to think about plus a crapton of RX330's and RX350's.
Anyways, I was somewhat surprised I didn't see one sooner...

There are 2 posers in my town.
1st is a silver Charger with factory spoiler and stock single exhaust, but on the side it has the red R/T from a Daytona where the 3.5L High Output badge should be. Have seen it a few times but have not had the chance to talk to the guy.
2nd is a black Magnum with SE wheel covers but has a HEMI badge on the side. Maybe this guy is running a sleep, not sure yet. Surprises me cause this guy into racing cars. He has an older Mopar that he races. Will have to investigate more.
I have no issues with people dressing up their cars to look like a higher end model, but putting the badging that says it is a higher end model I dont think is right. And people who have the 3.5L but are swapping it out for a 5.7 or 6.1, what is with that? Buy the fricking proper car in the first place!!!
Just my 2 cents.

OK, so "upbadging" isn't a word so i don't know if it is spelled correctly.
Today's post about the "HEMI Wannabe" made me laugh. As a new Charger owner (just over two months) I've seen only one SE upbadged as a HEMI, and that was a few weeks ago. Before my Charger, I owned a 2006 Impala SS, and was amused one day to be passed by an Impala LTZ that was upbadged as an SS. My very first brand new car was a 1988 Mustang LX 5.0L. Back then the Mustang came in 2 flavors for the LX - a 2.3L 4 cylinder, and the 5.0L and of course there was the 5.0L GT. It always amazed me how many people went to all the trouble to upbadge their 2.3L to 5.0L. Why?
Because here is what these upbadgers do not get: Only car enthusiasts care if you have a HEMI or not, or an SS or not, or a 5.0L or not. But these are also the people who can tell in an instant if you really don't have it.
So all that being said, what are the craziest upbadgings and most insane rebadgings you've seen?
I'll start with my top 3:
1) Saw a Ford Tempo once absolutely plastered with the Chrysler star logo. Must've had about 5 or 6 on there. (If he wanted a Chrysler, why not just buy a Chrysler?)
2) Saw a Mazda Protege with the "Chrysler 300 Hemi C" logo on the trunk (???)
3) Saw a Suzuki something or other with a rear-window sticker reading "Yeah, it's got a HEMI" (Admittedly, this may have been a joke - but it wasn't funny)

personally, I like "clowning" up-badging where you put something ridiculous on your car (or your buddy's car) because it's funny.
I had a toyota tercel with a massive VTEC (hey at least it didn't say VTECH) banner. Subtle is cool too. Like when we put a [turbo] badge from an old Sprint and put a big red pinstripe X over it... and slapped this on a '98 Grand Cherokee TSi.
And of course, V10 stickers on any import is entertaining.
Oh - my favorite was when we put these this small "proudly made by the UAW" stickers on my buddy's 89 supra one time where he didn't notice for a week; until someone egged his car.

One of my students has a 90-91 V6 mustang. This thing is a hunk of junk but he couldn’t be prouder. He always comes by to talk cars and one day he asked me if I saw his new exhaust. We walked out and he had these huge fart tubes hanging out of each side of his rear. I don’t know what they are called but they are the kind that you would see on a Ricer. I had him fire it up and sound only came out of one muffler. I knelt down to look and he had the second one there just for show. Oh yeah, both were held in place by coat hangers and duct tape.

I knew a guy that was a service tech for a lift truck company and he did the same thing to his service van. I see this two huge chrome tailpipes and I ask "Did you put dual exhaust on your service van???" and he says. No, the other is just for show. I just laughed at him.

I've seen some good ones over the years.
1. A kid with a Honda Accord rebadged to a Lexus (not an Acura, rather a LEXUS!!!). He had a fart can and a wing so large we mistook it to be a parkbench.
2. Hemi badges on a v6 Charger. (as suspected, a kid).
3. 5.0 on 2.3 Mustang (classic, seen that one alot).
4. Ferrari badges on an MR2 with a Ferrari body kit...that 3SGTE doesn't sound like it came from Maranello?!?!
5. VTEC badges galore...on stock D series non-VTEC Hondas.
6. The "Shocker" badges on a Honda (really nicely made badges, enamel and acrylic, lot of time was put into it).
7. The Ford truck badges that say "Fuct" in correct script inside the blue oval.
8. An old Newport with with the cigarette manufacturer's labels taped on the side and rear (spotted in a BAD ghetto).
...and, not really a rebadge, per-se, but my all-time favorite.
9. The " Shaggin' Waggin' ". A 90's something Japanese 4-door sedan painted John Deere yellow and green with "modified" John Deere logos representing a buck mounting a doe. This was a rather large logo on the hood and you would have to double take to realize it was actually what it was, but when you did you'd bust out laughing.

Not cars, but trucks: I cant stand when some yahoo spends the money jacking up his 2 wheel drive truck, and or slapping on MUD tires on it.
Driving around with my last suburban, I would just get almost mad seeing these men (esp men) strutting around in their lifted and jacked 4x2s.. I never did get the chance to challenge anyone off the streets in some mud drags...lol

:)decided to jump to the end as refusal to read this thread!!!!!!!!!!
<OK just a couple posts:)>
Saw an Acura Vigor on the 401 with brass letters with black writing spelling "VIGOR" across the trunk. Looked like he got them at Home Depot. You know, the letters that you'd use to put your last name or house number on your mailbox. It's a good look on a car too, yanno. :knockout:
Saw a Jeep Cherokee Limited, and the owner had removed the "J" and replaced it with a "D" so it said "DEEP" and then he put an 2 Chrysler badges on the back, and an "SSE" badge on it too. SSE? Wasn't that the Pontiac Bonneville???
I didn't get it...

I have seen people put dual exhausts on their v6's. I am planning to put an SRT-8 hood on my R/T but I am not trying to pass my car off as an SRT-8..
I have seen plenty of people add the SRT-8 spoiler to their R/T's and SXT's.
I guess what I am saying is I do agree that you should not try to pass your car off as a different model, I just dont know where we would draw the line...

Nothing but compliments for people who spend the time and money modding their Chargers, just don't pass them off for something they are not.

I have a similar experience. Let me first say I could care less what you do to your car, but it's the persons attitude that can change the way you think. I was driving to work the other morning and I saw a silver charger ahead. I was like cool. As I got closer I noticed the R/T badge and spoiler, but also the single exhaust. I pulled up next to him and gave him the thumbs up, he just looked at me, and started to speed up. So I was like ok he just wants to test his car (like we all do) so no offense taken. I pulled up next to him again and we both gunned it. It was 6 in the morn and no traffic. I passed him and pulled in front of him because my exit was coming up. I slowed to get off the exit and he flew past me I honked the horn and waved and he just gave me the finger....so....if he would have waved I would have been like cool nice car, have a good day, but with that response I was like WTF!! Maybe you should have bought an R/T if you are going to envy a person that has one.

I dont think its that people care, its just aggrivating to see a car badged something it's not. All of us being car guys, it should bother us when we see a car like this. I own a 3000gt and the center peace between my tail lights reads GTO where it used to say mitsubishi. I got it off ebay from a japan car. The GTO is from japan, it's what they called their twin-turbo version. I bought it and put on my car because for one it looks better and I like seeing older people look at my car with confusion at car shows. It is really funny. I look at it as, labeling your car something that it's not is just stupidity on the oweners part. When I see it I laugh and do not acknowledge they are even driving. Just my 2 cents.

When I was on a Ford forum I had the same beef ... SVT badges don't belong on Rangers or any other car/vehicle that SVT didn't modify themselves ... same here with SRT badging - if the SRT team didn't creat or modify the vehicle, SRT badges don't belong on it.
Same thing as putting an R/T badge on an SXT or SE.
Feel free to put a different badge on there, something like "special edition" or whatever else, but putting a factory badge on a vehicle that isn't the model it "claims" to be, is fraud and fake

There is nothing wrong with it in my book. The hood has no marking and fits right onto the r/t,sxt, ect.. Its when people start putting 6.1 stickers on the hood or srt 8 decals is when it becomes a problem. The hood itself looks really sharp on our cars. I think they all should come with a scoop. An srt8 is top of the line so you get what you pay for. I would love to have a srt 8 hood on my daytona but i would paint it with gomango paint or put some decal combo to kind of make it my own. I really dont like the factory srt wheels on some car because it has it wrote on the wheel. I would love to have the srt8 magnum wheels on my charger but do not want the srt lettering on the wheel, so i do without. Its just beyond me why someone would badge their car something that its not. I have no problem with what body parts people put on their cars. Its the badging thing that is so aggrivating. There is really no since in it. If you wanted the r/t model save your money and get the whole package. If you just wanted the emblem by the damn thing on ebay and stick on your mirror at home to remind yourself thats what you want. Dont just go by the base model charger and then by all the emblems you wanted to put on it. It doesnt make since. I love these cars but it disgust me when i see this done to any LX model. Im all for modding any vehicle and I love to see v6 guys do mods and run dual exhaust, hoods, and different rims. The v6 guys need that and the v6 chargers will continue to sell because everyone sees what all you can do to these things to make them even more beautiful. Just leave the badges off that dont belong.

I myself usually find true posers annoying. Its cool if you have a 6 cylinder to do what you want but we all know the guys that throw SRT8 badges on and try and go racing. Mostly its guys like that that make Honda Civic owners pull up and want to go against me because the other night they beat an SRT8 that wasn't real. There is a really ugly RT in my hometown, has the SRT hood and Grill(says SRT on the Grill) with a set of rims that look like plastic hubcaps from Canadian Tire. I dunno, I mean whatever, its obviously not an SRT to me, but I am an owner/enthusiast so I know, most don't.
The other day a silver Charger I have seen around a lot in my town tried playing with me. It has aftermarket rims, tint, fogs, and dual exhaust. It looks like an R/T without Road and Track but on closer inspection its an SXT, thats fine. Then this brain surgeon tries a ricer flyby on my SRT, I was going to let it go, but I can't. Yeah of course I raped him bad, he was trying to keep up but that just wan't happening. I guess maybe he thought I was like him and had a poser SRT8, I don't know.
man some ppl dont get it. i went to walmart today and i saw a REALLY nice black charger w/ 20's, tinted windows, a spoiler, srt hood and fascia. i went slow and let it pass and it only had one exhaust pipe. i was disappointed that it wasnt an srt8, but i still thought it was cool that the guy modded his car, and i respect him for it.
on the other hand, i dont have any respect for some1 paying 20 bucks for a badge and trying to pass their car off for something it isnt.
Maybe all they had was 20 bucks lol :) maybe its a work in progress. The person with the 20's you spoke of may not have had all of the work done o n his or her car at the same time but the end result was a nice car :)

Old school R/T Chargers had either the 440 magnum or 426 Hemi. The 3.5 would be smacked around by the 440 , and completely humiliated by the 426. I'm not hating on the 3.5, but lets not get delusional. I love the new chargers from the 2.7 to the 6.1 , but if your at a red light in your 3.5 and an "Old school" R/T pulls up and blips the throttle - you better just wave him off or pretend you don't notice him....:smoke:

Exactly, but you being a charger owner have to suffer along with him when he gets his ass handed to him a honda civic on steriods. The honda guy has bragging rights and in my book pisses me off. A lot of people feel like you do and dont care because its not your car. In the long run it makes chargers in generel look bad. Not to mention if the two raced, eg: badged charger and civic, they would probably be both confused when the honda probably had sti, svt, v-tec, dohc stickers all over it.

Well,
I am putting SRT wheels on my Daytona and not grinding off the logo.
I am putting the OEM SRT hood on my car and not gouging out the logo in the underhood insulation.
Why? I want those features on my car - real wheels (not plastic clad) and a functional hoodscoop.
I don't give a $hit who likes/dislikes it, it's MY car.
However I do not rebadge, pose, or drive like an A$$hat.
