We had a lot of fun, even if we didn't win anything. I think DA x 6 and I tied for last in our class. :D
Before they were announcing the trophies, they mentioned how they had never seen so many Chargers at any of their events and gave us a round of applause. All and all, it was a good day and it was great being able to feel how my Charger handled this kind of racing.

Looks like a blast! I am green with envy. I have to work almost every damn weekend and can never seem to get to an autocross.

I was there also! how come you don't mention me?? hehe.
That was a fun time, I like the pics and saved a couple, thanks.
Now where are the video's?
So are you guys going to go out to more auto-x's??
My wife had a fun time auto-xing the charger, said it was fun, and now feels more comfortable in it.
Glad we brought that then the neon.

Hey man - I was trying to find you over on LXforums, but I didn't know your screen name! Glad to see ya over here!
I had a BLAST! It was nice to see how my times improved with each run. I just have to get use to the balance between speed and turns to help improve my scores.. I'll also probably nab some new tires so I don't beat the hell out of my BFG's anymore than I did. It's definitely time to go strut brace and sway bar shopping, I think..
The video isn't the best, but I'll upload it and get it linked up on here.
Oh, and your wife drives like a champ!

<---- I got 10 now.
Yeah you'll learn more as you go. It can be tricky at first.
you did really good. A lot of people get discouraged when they go to events and don't do the best. Remember your against people that have been doing it for years.
Yes my wife does drive good(usually that might leave a bad taste in some peoples mouths.) Yes she has beaten me a few times also(racing that is). I am proud when she woops butt one others in her race class(besides me).
The charger is fun, I realy want to get back in RWD auto-x car, but you'll really have to get a ride in my neon. During the instuctional class 2 years ago, my student got a ride in my car. Got out said he had to get something, next thing I know he pack up all his gear and left.
With 1 or 4 people in the car, I really hardly notice a difference. The car does handle great for all season tires on it, man I hate goodyears, thinking toyo's next.
The video tunred out good. BTW my number is 313, wifes 373.

VERY AWESOME!!!! i ddint know if anyone did any road style racing on here. most talk is always about "1/4 mile this and that"
even if ya got last, keep at it... time trials at times can prove you to be the better driver on any given day. keep it up, brah!

I DNF'd 3 out of 5 runs:embarrese

Wish I knew what I was doing wrong...
I guess I'll try to make a point of working different stations next time to get a better understanding of the course.

How do you figure you DNF'd 3 times???
DrvNsily
08-06-2007, 11:04 PM
That suxs, I didn't hear you getting DNF's otherwise I would of watched.
The trick is learnig how to walk the course and translating that to driving the course. If you wait to work you allready lost 3 runs. You might of just been going on a wrong side of a gate or missing a slolom cone. That course was a bit tricky, I have been to ones that were much better. I'll have to see how the next event is. There courses might be a little tight for our weight challanged cars. The second half was just brutal. The other auto-x clubs I got to very rearly have a turn that tight with an angle more than 90deg.
I might be co-driving a S2000 nextime, but my wife will be there with the SRT with the new corsa exhaust on it, it sounds awsome!! If you want my wife or I can do a little instructing during the next event we have both been instructing at the SCCA class for 6 years.
BTW I mostly go to these events.

Also a good club is

the events at route 66 should be awsome, a HUGE lot.
Maybe I'll take the charger to thoes, hehe.

I just started a new job in Lombard, so I'll be heading that way all the time...
BTW, you should have honked- although I typically respond to honking hybrids with one, specific gesture...
