You guys are missing the best sport: Basketball!

Univ. of Arizona b-ball and the Phoenix Suns both kick a$$

Nascar is fun to watch in person. I have a tough time watching it on TV.
Football is awesome, but my favorite team (Broncos) are not on TV much here.
Baseball is fun to watch in person with enough beers, but boring to watch on TV.

Not a nascar fan here .. left left left left *yawn* where are the crashes? I watch the local figure 8 races or the street legal drag racing 1/4 mile stuff. To each their own.

I enjoy the NFL football games and wish they were on more days .. Saturday, Friday, etc would be cool. Besides liking football and playing a long time ago, it's good quality time with my dad every week.

Hell yeah I miss it. Had a pretty good NASCAR related year. Got to meet Boris Said at an off road race down here in San Dog. I met David Stremme at work (Navy). The wife met Brian Vickers at work (Credit Union). I went to Bob Bondurant's School of High Performance Racing through work (Navy) and learned from the guy who taught Jimmie Johnson a couple of weeks prior. My wife got to do about 10 hot laps with the instructor. He sent me a couple of autographed Jimmie Johnson and Brian Vickers die cast alluminum cars...pretty cool. My wife also ended up #50 in Yahoo's NASCAR fantasy league...at one point was #2...that's my girl!!!

Are there any other sports? Yeah, life is gonna be pretty boring after the Super Bowl. but Nascar will be on soon after that. Just paid for my tickets to Loudon. Can't wait. Got a lot of looks this summer when I went to the two races. Heard "Has that thing got a Hemi" about 50 times

I have NFL until Feb. 6th (although the weekend between the NFC/AFC Championship games [1/28] will be rough - then again, there's always the Senior Bowl that weekend). The Budwieser Shootout is Feb. 11th, and the Daytona 500 is Feb. 19th. And don't forget that the NFL Pro Bowl weekend is Feb. 9th - 13th.

So, all in all, I should be OK.....

I am a real big NASCAR fan....Yes I am going through withdrawl. But I just keep my TV on SPEED for all my racing needs. Last night they had the SEMA show on. They had a great shot of that 6.1L drifting Charger. I still love that thing. Maybe if we show enough interest on here someone will see it and they will make a street version.

GoDaddy....I know, somewhat, how you feel. I am a fan of the Houston Texans....a team who has managed for the past two weeks to snatch defeat from the hands of victory. It was painful watching them blow a 21 point lead 2 weeks ago (10 points in the last 30 seconds), and then lose in OT on a 56-yard pass play. This week wasn't so bad...I slept through it. :embarrese Oh well, at least we should be able to get Reggie Bush with the #1 pick in April's draft (even though what we REALLY need is a new defense and coordinator, and an offensive line...do you think we could trade the #1 pick to, say, Indy for their entire team? ). But, I shouldn't count my chickens till my eggs hatch. The way the Texans are going this season, they'll fine a way to screw up and lose the first pick.

I bow to your team's superior ineptness. The Texans have many more years to go before they reach the level of incompetence that the Browns have attained.

Oh, and I should remember that the ONE win that the Texans have this year came against the Browns.

OMG - we are so going through withdrawals. We went to 5 races this year - Spring and Fall Richmond, Spring Texas MS, Fall Dover, and Fall Martinsville. We got to drive the new Mega-cab around the track at Dover for driver introductions, with Jeff Gordon and Dave Blaney in the back. We were also up close to a lot of different Dodge drivers during a Q&A session. Fall Richmond we got to be in a "cheering section" while the 10 Chase drivers were being interviewed. Mark Martin is very short. It helps that I work for a certain cell phone provider!

So now we have to settle for watching old races - caught a '95 race last week, but had to draw the line on watching one from '85. It was funny, the "big innovation" for the '95 race was the counter in the corner of the screen that counted down the laps. Can't wait for the Bud Shootout!

Haven't been to Bristol yet - maybe next season. We have sweet Martinsville tickets - turn 4, 3 rows from the bottom, in a short row with only 4 seats - so no drunken fans tripping over you in their quest for more beers. We had fun taken the Charger down to that race!

Yep, I'm missing it too.

Now that there will no longer be any NASCAR in CO, the closest tracks appear to be Kansas and Phoenix or Vegas. Does anyone have strong feelings either way on any of these tracks?

Heck yes! I miss NASCAR and the IRL. It is nice to have a little break though. Attending both NASCAR and IRL races during the summer sure does fill up the calender. (As well as drain the checkbook).

Come on February!

I can confirm that...Bristol is the BEST track to watch a race at!! Outside the track is like a carnival and inside the track is the best NASCAR racing you'll see, IMHO. I've been to a few at Bristol, including the one that big Dale nudged Labonte out of the way for the win....priceless!

I've also been to Pocono - cool but too big to be at, better on TV, Dover - awesome to be at, no bad seats, not as insane as Bristol but a great track to go to, Richmond - nice facility, still has an old school NASCAR flair about it.

My wife has been to Bristol a few times (she grew up only a couple of hours from the track), and she says that it is the best. I have only been to Martinsville and Richmond, and, personally, I like Richmond more. I want to try Dover and Bristol someday as well. I've told my wife that I won't do a Bristol race until I am retired. That way, we can go and camp out for a few days BEFORE and AFTER the race so that we don't have to mess with traffic.

The camping at Bristol looks like a blast!! All the campers make the track grounds into a small self sufficient city during race weekend and the people are real nice out there. Last time I was there a guy put a tarp in the bed of his pickup truck and used one of the water hoses there to make it into a pool....awesome...especially because it was like 90 that day ;)

camping is huge at texas also......i really want to go that route instead of battling traffic...my dad and i compare notes about traffic all of the time (bristol and texas have to be the worst). we sat in traffic to leave for almost 3 1/2 hours and 2 1/2 of that was in the parking lot about 15 feet from where we parked......although it was entertaining watching the drunks!!!! there were more people at nov. race than i have ever seen at texas ms....it was unreal.

my goal is to park friday...watch qualifying.....get drunk.....watch busch.....get drunk....watch nextel......get drunk.....wake up next morning and drive home. and i don't drink but twice a year (usually during mardi gras) but this would be too much fun!!!!

Richmond has the best tailgaters, and the state troopers at TMS have the most creative orange cone designs I have ever seen. It must be quite beautiful from the air. I saw them make a guy get out of his car and pick up the 2 cones he knocked over. What I really want is one of those condos that face the inside of the track.

Here is what I've been doing to pass the time.
I'm cutting up this Camaro at a friends shop. The suspension, gas tank, brake M/S,steering column and box are done. Once it's on the jig from the firewall back gets hacked out.
The scoop & spoiler is on my cousin's son's ride. A 99 Olds Intrigue. Yea you heard me! Intrigue. The shops near him didn't want to touch the fibreglass scoop so I offered my services. Thats my cousin in the pic, I think she is a closet Overhaulin fan

This Camaro is on the other side of the shop and is almost finished.
Sorry I am prohibited from taking close up pics. When the interior was out being painted (at the car owners body shop) a guy from another shop came in and starting taking pics with his PHONE!!! The owner made him delete the pics. It's cut throat out there.
