Just thought I'll add this to the V6 specific discussion.

When I got the car I noticed that the AC would sometimes not kick in until I turned the knobs a little. I thought this was common for European designed AC systems. (My buddy with a 06 BMW has it too) Finally I brought this up at the 5000k service and now I'm getting the HVAC controller replaced.
My question is : is that the same as the AC module?

Also, there is a slight hesistation when I shift from R to D and vice versa, ie 3 point turning. Is that the shift hesistation problem?

Thanks a lot guys.

For some reason, I can't seem to find the thread........

........but I think Brian "BT1024" had experienced something like that a while back.

Perhaps he will see this and chime in, or you could send him a PM to find out.

I have also noticed this. Almost like the car doesnt allow you to slam into a gear . THe car must come to a full stop before the trans fully engages. Wonder if this is the ESP at work or something else?

About the A/C control knob issue -
I would post the links to the (perceived) issue that I noted, but I'm to lazy to go hunt them down. But, not too lazy to repost the (perceived) issue here.

So, here was what I had observed before, which turned out to be "by design" - I actually got the Service Manager to check with Chrysler about it.

What I observed, that when I turn the Vent control to "Floor" only (A/C is OFF and Defroster is OFF), the compressor turned on. I could hear it turn on and watched it (the compressor clutch kick in) from the Engine compartment.

As I noted, "my" Dealer's service manager checked with Chrysler on this and it was designed to turn on the compressor when the Vent is set to "Floor" mode only.

- Now, I still think that is strange, because all of the cars I have ever owned, only engage the compressor when the "Defroster" vent mode is set, When the "Floor/Defroster" mode is set, and when the "A/C" is selected. Oh, well I've bigger issues with the car to worry about.

Also, "way back when", I had also posted about having the Vent/AC/Defroster control module replaced by the dealer, when I took the car in for the "Blowing hot for 5 seconds then Cold when A/C is turned on" issue.

I hope that clears things up.

- I have not notice any issues, like having to "tinker" with the knobs to get the A/C to kick in.

- Also, there's the Control module in the dash, which is the "box" that has all of the knobs in it (that's what I had replaced) - but, it's actually the "PCM" module that actually controls the A/C (and the compressor). That is what I had read and what the service manager explained.
