Where and how? and ofcoarse how much?
I have been in an E-class, a GS430 and an S-class with panoramic roof and they are amazing... I know there is a company working on reskinning the 05-06 mustangs and adding glass roofs, but if there is for a charger, i would love to see that...

CDC already makes the Glassback roof for the 300. I have seen the Glassback 300 at SEMA, and a few members with the glassback roof. It is awesome. TommyZ is installing a glassback roof on my MagnumSRT, currently sitting at his shop. I do not know if the glassback will fit in a Charger or not. I have not looked to see if the Charger roofline is any different or the same as the 300/Magnums is.

definantly not a fan of that,
they probably built it that way to retain the roof's structural stability

or this was the most cost effective way to do what this person had in mind, either way i dunno

Here is a pic I found of TommyZ's own 300C. You can see the glassback roof better and also the grip tuning stainless steel roof applique.

That looks much better compared to the other one,
It also seems as though there isnt a way to do a full glass roof and maintain the roofs stability...maybe

It can be done, but you are talking serious $ for an all glass roof. I believe the Glassback 300 glass roof is $4000 installed. Tommy said the install only took about an hour to do for the glassback roof, on his 300.

I sat in TommyZ's 300, and trust me, the view from the back seat is amazing. I wonder how hot it might get on a road trip on a sunny day, might have to wear sunblock, but the view is really incredible. The interior roof was finished very nicely. I might suggest some kind of retractable shade.

I would have to agree with this...I can only imagine how warm it would get even with the air conditioner on in the dead summer heat here...probably very uncomfortable unless you had a retractable shade

Wow the Glassback really looks nice, and for that price, i believe its a fair deal... But does the kit come as a complete bolt on replacment to the actual roof? and do you have to make a new headliner or is it included in the kit?

About the heat though, im sure you can use some clear film that is heat resistant... I know VCool has some effect on sunlight, a few of my friends installed them on their rides, and the lighter the tint, the better it worked to make it cooler on the interior... Or even ask about the film used in glass office buildings... I don't see it as the biggest issue really for such a great outcome in the end...

My MagnumSRT is over at Tommy's new shop in Sterling Heights.

He is having the CDC glassback installed on my Magnum. Plus he is also fitting the Magnum with the first fat fender kit.

The Glassback roof is not a direct replacement for the OEM roof. You cut a hole in the roof, like a sunroof, just a bigger hole.

The glassback is also a laminated solar reflective glass. If I feel the interior gets too hot. I can have an upholstery shop make a shade insert. The glass is too big to make a retractable shade. Where would it slide back and hide?

I think this is what you are looking for. It is the same size as the glassback roof. I do not know if there is a rear sunroof that also opens. But you can see there is a front sunroof that is part of the large piece of glass, that opens. I snapped this pic real quick while walking through exhibit halls at SEMA 06.

A retractable shade could be done, but needs to be really creative... It could be rolled up in the back towards the rear windows, there is a big area there that seems to be un used, but i would watch out for rear view mirror clearance though...

The Mercs and Lexus cars with Panoramic roofs should have some solution... I know the E-Class has a retracting shade, that rolls up in a piece in the middle of the headliner, cutting the panoramic view in half... Electronicly controlled, they roll up inside...

E class roof, and it can be opened...

This is a Porsche Cayenne, it has an electronic rolling shade...

It can be done, but just needs alot of work and figuring out...

Who does convertible conversions, esp. on 4 doors, for $4K?
