Wow, I forgot about this thread.
Good to see all of you posting, expecially the ones in the DFW area.
I've heard about the Daytona in Irving, some friends, even my X) were asking if it was me. Nope it wasn't me, not at the time of day they saw it.
I've been actively moding my car. The last mod was Blastin Bob’s 11db pipes. Wow, love the sound, the Mango sounds like a beast now.
Hate to gloat  but I can’t wait to see how many rubber necker’s there will be on my ride to work as the beast goes by. Hope they don’t cause an :dead: accident.

Yarbie - sweet ride! Black is the color, and no the crome isn't overpowering. Let's add up... hum external mods, headrest, embroidery and oh yes the rims; Dam makes my blood boil! Who did the embroidery?
sniper226 - Look forwrd to seeing a SRT-8 in action. Click...click...BANG, do it.
Brogers93 - Is that you running round Irving?
Puff Chippy - Can't tell much on your ride other than BLACK, I have to say it again black that's the best color!

I guess I need to get one to come out. :) Still debating. The $43k price tag on the SRT8 is a bit more than I am use to paying for a car. But it would be so fun blowing the doors (or just having the ability to, not that I am a street racer or anything like that mind you  ) of most Acura's, BMW's, Mercedes, Infinites etc. I was never a luxury car kind of guy and thought people were dumb to pay extra for the name.
Frisco has an eatery on Preston called Cruisers which caters to car people.
Was out there a couple weeks ago on a Friday. A bunch of old muscle cars were in the parking lot for a show.
I bet you would get some questions on the new Charger if you show up in one of those.

sniper226 one of my work buddys took a SRT-8 for a test drive last weekend. He currently has a 04 GTO. He was impressed and mentioned the SRT-8 would leave his GTO behind.
I haven't seen one up close yet, that's something to look forward to.
You bet that you would generate some questions with a STR-8, no doubt!
Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Havinfunagin - Congradts on the new Charger! Welcome to the form. I agree the Charger is a fun toy and will inject a bit of youth into a person. Enjoy!
I reviewed "wish list". Take a look at the Jet Stage II, it's not much more $$ than the Stage I, it's a bigger bang for the chargerbucks $$.
Anyhew another thought is to wait until SuperChips/HyperTech/others come out w/a programmer. A programmer will give you flexability of tweeking things to meet your needs.

havinfunagin - Not really. Stage X chip lets say 250 after shipping. A programmer may be 300-350. Of course one needs to hit market for us to get a price check. They may be proud of giving us the ability to flash the programmers EPROM and add mod data as well. Hide and see. I look for a marginal bump $$ from the Stage X

I've been waiting for this forum to pick up. I am a DFW guy that lives in Red Oak (South) and work in Arlington. Black is definitely the color. I have an SE and have acquired R/T wheels and tires, splash guards, and honeycomb grille. Need to get tint and fog lamps. Thinking about Mopar cat backs or ??? and other performance as allowed by $$$.
Love the rubber neckers. Was going toward Kaufman a few weeks ago. I was coming up behind a truck and he couldn't keep his eyes to the front. As I got closer, he would look in the rear view and then the side view and then the rear view and then... It was hillarious. I thought he was going to need a neck brace. First question from everyone - you get the HEMI? Well, no but that will keep me out of trouble. I'll be crusin home on I-20 going 70 and it just wants to go faster... a lot faster... It has more power than my truck. I tell everyone that it is a lot of fun to own a Charger. My wife says, "he's going through a mid-life crisis." Too bad for her, I don't let her drive it much. She had to beg for nearly a month before I let her take it for a day.

Hello everybody,
I stumbled across this forum tonight and thought I would check in from Copperas Cove. Ok, I can almost see some quizzical looks here - it's a little town adjacent to the west side of Fort Hood. It's about 60 miles north of Austin and about 30 miles west of I35, seems like it is out in the middle of nowhere. On the bright side, going anywhere turns into a nice little roadtrip :D ..........on the down side, we should have gotten the SRT-8..........

Just outside of San Antonio here, not quite a Charger but a Magnum RT. Mine is a bit different, snagged one hard loaded to make a Police K-9 vehicle! Cool Vanilla, should look interesting all hidden L.E.D.'d out with a K-9 insert, white markings and sunroof! It's going to take quite a few months to finish, having trouble finding emergency equipment to fit and the insert is still two months out.
Absolutely fell in love after a Deputy in a Charger went by me on his way to a call New Years Eve, WOT, the song he was singing was SWEEEEET!

Sick puppy (so to speak) pretty much fits the bill, but has nothing to do with this particular question.
My new dog is a 3 year old Dutch Shepherd that I got at the Police Dog trials in Holland in October. His name is Eros. I asked Dhr. Egging, the man who owned and trained him, why he was named that. He replied that Eros was a very famous opera singer.... I'll have to take his word for that.
I also bought a female at the trials, her name is Shota. Shota turned out to be a very famous Dutch soccer player. In Spanish slang, chota is "cop".
So far I really love this Magnum. Several years ago I retired my old Caprice, and have hated my F*rd Police Impersonator ever since. Finally, a real car again! I am really looking forward to it getting finished out and using it.

Ah, thank you for clearing that up. Looks like it might be Eros Ramazzotti (quick google). As for Dutch soccer players, the only one I remember (but that doesn't mean much) is Johan Cruyff back from '74. He was nicknamed the chimney by some because he smoked so much.
As for the cars, did you also show those cars or plan on showing your Magnum?

Nice color, we tried getting that one. Unfortunately, the other dealership sold it before my dealer could complete the deal - half a day did make a difference there. Then all they could find was the silver (2nd option) with the options that we wanted. To make up for it they threw in some other things that we didn't really want, but they worked out ok for us - the B.A. stereo, Evic, U-connect, Sirius, smokers group. It worked out in the long run :)

So there are only about 50 Chargers in Texas? I am in the Plano/Frisco area and I've only seen 2. On the other hand, I see 20 or 30 new Toyotas. Worries me about sales success.

Arfur.. wouldn't try to compare a Toyota to a Charger. I was more getting at the fact that I'm worried if they'll sell enough Chargers to keep them going. If I see 5 new Toyota Corollas every day and see one Charger every 3 weeks, I wonder if the sales volume is sufficient. And then if they make the Challenger, will that cut into Charger sales making the sales volume even lower? I'm just voicing a concern that allthough everyone here is into Chargers, is it enough to keep them produced?

Well I am new to these boards, and I don't have a Charger, but I do have a Ram 1500 with just about every 6.1 part installed. I am only lacking the short block and it will be here in a few weeks. Hello all.. new to the forum.. wife and I just purchased an Inferno Red SXT last night. Not that we got to drive it home mind you. The car was at the Plano dealership and we waited and waited for them to 'drive it over' to Lewisville. No luck. They sent us home in a HEMI based Charger. I hope the transition back to the 3.5L will be ok. Anywho.. look forward to maybe meeting some of you at the meets, and will post pics once I get my baby in.

I'm afraid I've been bad. I stomped on it a few times just for a taste.. and it tasted like  . Oh well.. the 250 hp in the SXT is still tons better then what I was used to, which was a 2004 Mazda 3 hatchback. :D

Pretty much. I started out in the "regular" Navy for 3 years before going to SEAL training in 1998. I've been at 2 different commands within NAVSPECWAR for the past 8 years. It's all been out here in San Diego...for the most part. I spent a year in North Carolina at an Army school and have deployed overseas a few times.

I would LOVE to throw a rock and hit a leftist! When's John Kerry (he served in Vietnam you know) going to be in town?
Austin is still defiantly blue, but, believe it or not, Travis County during the 2004 election went something like 62% commie, 34% American. Go think. I guess the local comrades have lost some of their hammer & sickle mystic.
And then we have the Horns. Current National Champs in football. All though, like my little brother (Bud in these forums) says, I should be an Aggie fan instead. When's the last time you've heard of an Aggie getting arrested for something? Horns? Unfortunately a daily occurrence it seems.

I am thinking they need to go too. I left them on so I could try out the 40's and see if they made a big difference but honestly, its a little more aggressive sounding but not a lot. i figured I could always have them removed later. The only thing I was concerned about is I dont want a lot of vibration or drone going on. Are you going to be at the Cruise for Charity in Sept? Maybe I can take a listen to yours.

I'm guessing he picked it up at Maxwell Dodge. They had one a few weeks ago and I fought temptation to see how much they wanted for it when I stopped in to get my plates and stickers, then I saw it last week on 183 just past 1431 with temporary plates. It wasn't at the dealer for long!

Hi, I got it from Bonham Chrysler North of Dallas. Nice guys. They drove it to Austin on a flatbed trailer and dropped it off on my doorstep.
I have seen the one at Maxwell, it has a sticker of 52K on it, so naturally I let them sit on that one.

We need to plan an Austin GTG in early Feb when the weather turns for the better. Would members prefer a Saturday event (4PM?). 2 good choices are either Rudys or Hooters, both are on North 183. Let me cast the first vote for Hooters (hot wings and cold beer).

hah hooters would be a good way to go, cant drink (im 18), but ill take wings!
Only problem with Hooters is that their parking lot is pretty small and it's always busy. It kind of defeats the purpose of a car get together if we can't even park near each other.

I've been to a few get togethers for the Covette club at that Rudy's and it's worked out well in the past. Granted they get there fairly early in the morning to set up.

ya guess thats true, anywhere we go we might need to get there earlier, or at an odd time of the day, maybe 2:30-3:00 to be on the tail end of the lunch hour?
