I've been lurking here for about 3 weeks now which is how long I've now had my silver SXT.

I am very pleased with this car and literally stumbled across it in the showroom when I came in to look at the Chrysler Sebring that I had researched on line. One quick spin in the Sebring and I realized the cabin was entirely too small for my liking considering my last vehicle was a Bonneville.

As I was exiting the showroom I noticed a vehicle off by it's lonesome in the corner with it's front end snarling at me. I asked what it was and he said it was the Charger SXT. I walked up to the vehicle and was quite taken by the front end and surprised I didn't drop dead of sticker shock so I said let's take it for a ride. I had not seen a single commercial of these vehicles prior to visiting the showroom so I wasn't predisposed one way or the other.

The dealer in my case has a test track and I did about 5 laps all the while looking over the interior and getting a feel for the power of the car. It handled quite nicely, exhibited great *enthusiasm* when I put my foot in it (although the salesman gasped) and the cabin size was about the same as my old Bonneville. After 2 days of haggling I purchased the SXT with a very acceptable 5.9% interest rate and have been smiling ever since.

My purchase wasn't planned per se. My Bonneville exhibited problems and inspection was due (she had 115K on her) and I didn't want to drop a couple more grand into a car that was over ten years old so I needed another vehicle.

I think I am fortunate in that I stumbled into a Charger. It is my first Dodge and I am very happy with it thus far. It certainly has great jump for a V6 (had they caught me this time last year during my mid life crisis I would have taken the hemi) and the car is actually quite striking as demonstrated by the number of heads it turns and questions I am asked when entering and exiting the vehicle at malls and the such.

The enthusiasm exhibited here by owners of the Charger is quite enjoyable to see but I thought it time I jumped in because I have found myself reviewing the threads associated with mods and am beginning to feel the itch.

I see much discussion about the exhaust but am unsure what I want to do. One of the first things I noticed about the SXT was that the stock exhaust growled quite nicely when so motivated so I'm kind of on the fence about it. I would like dual exhaust if only to fill that gap on the back underside where the second pipe is on the V8 models but only time will tell I suppose.

The other mods are of interest as well and likely I will do something to customize my Charger in the near future.

In the interim I will continue to learn from the regulars here who have proved they can provide a bonanza of information on most any topic so please keep up the good work folks !
