I just got done reading this thread at LXforums, and one guy contacted paxton about the Prowler supercharger kit they had for it. Paxton discontinued the kit over a year ago, when the LX platform was out. Knowing that the Prowler uses the same exact V6 as the Charger, why do they have to be so retarded! Do they know how much money that they would be making off that kit, because some of the V6 LX platforms would buy it.

The guy looked up the kit, and he noticed that it used the Paxton NOVI 1000 supercharger, which they still sell. All you need is to fab up a fuel return kit, and brackets.

anyone wanna offer some insight on this?

John

Look at it this way, the Prowler motor is the same 3.5 HO V6, but a different trans----there are prowlers pusing 400 HP--at the wheels!

now if paxton werent retards. there would be V6 LX's pushing 400 HP! Talk about a HEMI killer!

Paxton stopped making the kits because the customer base wasn't there. There were guys screaming for an affordable supercharger that actually puts out power. Paxton stepped up to the plate and gave them one. After only a few years (remember, the Prowler was made for 5 years and there are only a little over 12,000 of them), they did not sell enough product to warrant the continuation of the kit. My friend Chris (aka Cnote6) (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/661640) from Texas has the Paxton in his prowler, and of the whole crew of people I know from that crowd, he's the only one I know with the kit.....

So, who's starting the petition to Paxton?

Anyone?......anyone?......Spoon?

I would love to have one on my SXT. I'll just make sure that I look it over VERY carefully, and describe it CORRECTLY when I get it..... :embarrese  :D

Any idea on what this would cost??--I think it would have been cheaper to have gotten the Hemi and deal with the 50HP less, plus have the warranty.

Go to a junkyard and pull one off of a 6-71 diesel :)

Here is a little article I found on the Paxton NOVI 1000 install on a V6 Prowler:

http://hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/40838/

From what I can find, the cost of the NOVI 1000 (blower only) runs $1,600 - $1,800 (provided you can still find one). I would also assume that there would be some modifications necessary to get it to fit our 06's. The article indicated that the entire blower kit ran in the neighborhood of $5,200.

That would be a little too rich for my blood as a performance minded "daily driver" vehicle in my view!

Ok, you guys wanna start a petition? I'll get it started!

Even though i don't have my charger yet, I still wanna help you guys out ( by the time I get my charger, maybe paxton would have changed thier minds)

Send your name to my email at EVOlution8_05@hotmail.com. when we get at least 100 signatures, ill send an email to them explaining the demand for this supercharger kit. Tell your friends at LXforums to do this as well!

Now, who will be first?!

Warranty i have nothing to talk about, but the 50 hp less i do. You gotta think power to weight ratio. How much lighter is the 3.5 than the 5.7. I bet you a is significantly lighter due to the size difference. So that "extra" 50 hp would make a huge difference. And if what was said was correct it would be 400hp to the wheels!!! not at the fly. I think this is a great idea. Hemi killer is right

I have friends that could help me with the fabrication of a turbo system, 8-9 psi. Unfortunately I have no charger and no time to fab it up. I think that after all is said and done, including labor, I could get a kit going for ~3500. I have a basic understanding of turbos and with the help of two of my friends I could definitely get one fabbed.

The biggest problem that you would have is the EMS tuning. I think you would have to go with AEM EMS, complete stand-alone system. That would bump the price up.

Too bad when I get a charger I won't have the time or the moeny to put my car out of comission long enough to build the system...

Boost is coming. Power Ported Performance just told me they are 3 to 4 months out on a V6 turbo kit and Thomas Knight Turbo's is doing a centrifical supercharger running 5psi (not enough in my opinion, but you can always change out the pulley to a make more boost) in about 3 months. Go to www.boosthead.com and click on updates for info. I was going to do the Knight supercharger but now I am leaning towards PPP

I just looked at the link www.boosthead.com "BIGGCHarger" posted, I know i am going to buy either a turbo or super charger after one comes out, i am glad to see another company working on something for our platform, the turbo is taking so long and still have not seen one come to market for the HEMI like promised so hopefully these guys will come through

if i go with turbos i think i will wait till sts turbos gets a twin turbocharger kit done. i saw an installation on a c5 or c 6 corvette that put them in the back of the car underneath and then fed the tubes back up to the front.. wild setup but awesome power gains.. and a willd sound out the back. i think their website is ststurbos.com. if i find anything out i will be yellin nice and loud trust me.
