Speaking of Kasey, what the heck is going on with Evernham Racing this season?! I thought for sure that Kasey would have 3 poles and 1 or 2 wins by now coming off of last year...stupid COT...

Here's my theory.

1. I don't think that Kasey adapts to changes very quickly. If you remember, he ran very strong his rookie year...when he wasn't wrecking, that is. In 2005, when Dodge changed the nose...and then NASCAR changed the spoiler height which screwed with the Charger's aero...Kasey struggled. Last year, after a full year of running the new nose, Kasey had a very strong year. Now, this year, Dodge changed the Charger's nose yet again, AND they are transitioning to the COT. I just don't think that Kasey is adjusting to the new nose, and the new car, as well/quickly as others. And, I think that next year will be much of the same as he continues to adjust to the new car (my bet is that they will go to the COT full time next year). So, if I'm correct, 2008 won't be a very good year, but by 2009, Kasey should be back on track.

2. This kinda goes along with #1. I think that when Kasey has something bad happen to him, or when he's not doing too well, his confidence is shot and he's not able to rebound as quickly as other drivers. As he learns the new nose and car, he'll do better, which will in turn help his confidence level...which will in turn help him do better in races...which will...you get the picture.

Again, that just my theory.

But there is some word that NASCAR is considering going to the COT full time next year instead of phasing it in. There's also rumors that this is what most, if not all, of the teams want so that they don't have to field 2 different types of cars.

That would be a heck of a team! I like Tony, but he's been acting like a baby lately, with that whole "Im retiring...." thing! I don't think Jr. will go to Gibbs because I dont think he will let go of Budweiser as a sponsor. I guesss Gibbs refuses to let a beer sponsor one od his cars. But I agree that would be one heck of a team! Whatever it takes to beat them Hendricks boys!!
