Spring charger get together in south west mich

if any one is interested in meeting at the drag stip in martin michigan this spring after it opens to meet other local charger drivers and maybe put in a few passes on the strip. i havent found a date i would like to try and make this lil event on so i figured i would see if any other people would want to go to this little meeting i want to set up. let me know if you would like to go to something like this. either post here or email me at crazybarracuda@gmail.com

i dont think it will be a big enough gathering to constitute talking to the owner of the track but we will see how many others want to come also. usually there is some test and tune racing on saturdays. If you have not been to the track recently it was bought about 5 years ago and the old track was torn up and the new one built. very nice facuilities to spend a day.

I haven't been to the Martin track in years. Don't they have spring/summer nights where any local people can come and race for fun? I think it use to be $5 to get in and $5 to race? That was like 15 years ago, so I'm sure it's ten times higher now.

hey the track does have test and tune still and i think its like 25 or something like that and its wednesdays and saturdays if i am remembering right so you game to come up from k-zoo

yeah i have a few buddies i know from Ferris state that want to come out one of them wanting to race his laser with a big turbo so i was like sure man lets see what i can do

Im glad to hear more and more people want to join in on this unoffical gathering. im thinking end of may when the track opens. i think we can have alot of fun and maybe go cruising after racing at the track. yeah if this is a big hit we might be able to set up a west michigan charger club or something like that. I'm originally from Flint, but now I live in Macomb. I've had my R/T since July.
I'm interested in meeting. I work alot, so the more advanced the notice, the better.

I drove from the Detroit area to Englishtown NJ in October for a LX Meet and it was worth the trip. It might be a good idea to expand the event to all LX platform vehicles to increase the count. The Englishtown Event was sponsored by one of the Forum Advertisers - another angle to explore. The only risk w/ tagging on to a test and tune day is catching a busy day and getting only 1-2 runs. There are other brand owners on this side of the state that are interested in a multi-make event - that would include GTO, Marauder and CTS. That might make things interesting. Count me in.

with the new track i can see it being busy at time but as soon as they open this spring i may call the owner and see if i can get the low down on the schedule and try and fit the gathering to sometime when a big Irha event is not in town. i will try and get the information asap. right now im waiting for them to release the 2006 season schedule. And in response to D-town Mike i wouldnt mind having other makes since it is not a sponsored or advertised event its just a little meet and greet i want to put together to get to know the other people in the state with chargers. i just think it would look sweet to have like 10 or more chargers in a line.

Has there been a date set for this gathering? Any chance to get it sponsored, or invite others to make this a real nice event. I'm looking forward to just showing off what I have done and getting some pointers from others.

no date has been decided. sponsorship is a no due to the fact that i just am setting this up as a get together with other car nuts. one thing i have been meaning to ask is what month would be best for you to have this event. April, May, june, or july. i was thinking june just so we will have a better chance of good weather. well everyone by the end of the month i will have a tenative date set for the event
