UPDATED:

Well I am dissapointed. Peripheral's customer service was AMAZING, but the product is a failure. Now I know that this could be an issue with just my adaptor and not a widespread thing, but here is the problem:

You plug in the iPod and turn on the car. You switch the radio mode over to "VES" and the iPod plays fine. BUT....if you decide to ever listen to the radio or Sirius for a bit, you're iPod will lock up and not play when you come back to it. Even if it does play, you won't hear any audio. It's that simple...it just doesn't work.

I'll be returning it tomorrow. Peripheral has great service, but this product still needs work.

From what I have learned with my Ipod, they are finicky to changes like you described. I know on a PC if you allow your creen saver to come on, or if you computer goes into hibernate it can cause issues with the Ipod not playing correctly or even worse the Ipod could become corrupted and then needs to be reformatted. The two issues I mentioned are know issues with Apple in regards to the Ipod. You may have to disconnect the Ipod before switching to the Sirius. Give that a try before you send back you adapter
