PaCharger

I'm heading down early Friday, I'll be there for the 5:00 gate opening.
I've only ever run Test and Tune, are the Grudge matches any different? Curious....

I'll have all my mods ready by then, and I'll have a helmet just in case I can get to the elusive. 13.xx 1/4.

Anyone and everyone that feels like heading out...please...lets have some fun and talk cars.

Here's the weather...http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=21921&hourly=1&yday=321&weekday=Friday

I am thinking of heading over too. I hope I see you......it is just a big free for all.....hurry up and wait and then run whoever happens to be in front or behind you.

.......Oops, I just noticed this thread - here's my post from the other thread -

PaCharger,
You know what - (no I didn't just save a lot of money on my car insurance by switching to Geco).

- I just realized that I had scheduled a vacation day on Friday - So, I may come down to watch.

- Did your previous post note that the Track opens at 5pm for racing ?

WATCH????? Come down and race Brian!!

- I've got the little 3.5L V6 "SE" model - so, I shouldn't be getting out there with the "Big Boys".

So, I'm OK with watching - I've only been to 2 track events, my entire life - and those were last month - But, I really enjoy seeing that type of competition.

Brian, we all pee standing up...well , er...i think we do. The track isn't about beating someone else...its about testing against yourself...well, mostly. Still, like golf...yeah, nice to beat your buddy, but you are still just trying to get better. Race it once, and you won't watch from the sidelines ever again.
Join us...c'mon...3 or 4 chargers racing...yeeeehaw.

- Well, actually - after I get an issue with the car worked out - and get the Jet Chip, I would like to run the car, just to see what kind of time it posts.

- I won't run it now, because of the "vacuum" noise then a "click" noise that I get everytime I accelerate (I've noticed this for the past 1.5 months) - I hope that I find the cause of that (Just tried to show the issue to the dealer on Monday and the noise was too faint for them to hear. Other days, itis highly noticable). Once that is worked out, I will get the JetChip - then run the car next spring to see the time(s).

I'm OK with watching - Plus, I don't mind driving - and I wan't to use my Aftermarket NAV system (to justify the cost of it).

- enough rambling from me - I may see you all on Friday evening.

Looks like the temps are really going to drop here....I like it. Wanted to get a cooler run my first time out a couple of weeks ago....but it went up to 65-70 that day.

Anyone else planning on coming out? I posted on the LXFORUMS site as well, try to get some other mopar products running down the asphalt.

Hey Brian,
I'm going to try and make it Friday night. I've got a SXT we could square up against eachother.
Should be pretty funny to watch.

PaCharger

guys....your sxt's will faster than quite a few other cars out there. Plus...if you haven't added any mods...you can get a stock time...speed legally, test your reaction time on the light tree...have fun.....and then you know when you get jet chips, cais, headers, exhausts...what your overall performance enhancments netted you.

I ran last time DEAD BONE stock...with golf clubs in the trunk...LMFAO....give it whirl. I'll be leaving Lancaster around 3pm and be at the track around 4ish....let the car cool, get in line....get through tech early and get some early runs...

CYA there.

PA There is no tech....you are in Cecil County Maryland where you can marry your first cousin when she hits 13. Tech is for sissys. You pay your $12 and you race!

I hope to be there around 5:00

Too freaking funny..........glad to hear it. Yeah, last time my buddy was there, he said guys were drinking a bunch of beers too. Lmao...
Just got my little hood struts installed...45 seconds...
Now i have to figure out how and with what, i am going to glue my new little R/T badge. I have the stock grill...already snapped and shaved the plastic pieces on the back.

Buy a couple of bags of ice and fill about 10 Zip Lock bags and park them on the intake while you are waiting in the staging lanes. Also - pump the front tires to about 50 pounds - get the gas down to about 1/4 tank and use Sunoco 94 octane. Pull the spare too! You should see some 13's.

It the Old Days - Cecil was always at least a tenth quicker than the Grove.

11-16-2005, 03:40 PM
PA im there .be leavin balto.430 or so see you there when I was there couple weeks ago think it was 25.00 to race ten for watchers, also the tech is filling out a card thats it.Dtown how much air in the rear when you did cecil?

PaCharger
11-16-2005, 03:46 PM
Mike.......did you leave it in Drive, or autostick it? I just read that Drive handled the shift power management better.

daytona srt8
11-16-2005, 03:53 PM
shifts at 6000 in drive ...pa going to mix 110 with 93 for the runs.with the f1s and the lighter wheels it should do better this time (i hope)13.5 just dont do it

PaCharger
11-16-2005, 03:56 PM
i'd be thrilled with anything in the 13's, but then again, i'm racing a gokart with wagon wheels compared to that beast you're running.......now where is that darn wagon rope and handle mod I was reading about.....grin....

d-town mike
11-16-2005, 05:15 PM
I would leave in in Drive - as the 1-2 shift is tough to get just right. Also - be careful staging - creep into the seccond beam and stage as shallow as possible. There can be up to a tenth in shallow vs not shallow stage.

BTW - anything over 93/94 octane is not recognized by the factory cal.

Let the car cool as much as possible in the staging lanes - engine off and hood up.

daytona srt8
11-16-2005, 05:27 PM
the mix comes out to a 96. the 6.1 that i had in the 300 ran a nice time (on a runway with three stop watches) I could feel the boost.they are the same engines right.

Hello everyone, this is my first post but been reading the forums for a few months now.I'm just down in Harford county so I think I'll stop by Friday at cecil county to see and hear all your mods. I have the go mango daytona with no mods yet. Well I do have a K/N cai on its way and I've dressed up the interior a bit. Hope to see you there.

Welcome aboard...

Still trying to talk my wife out of line dancing.

I want to hit the track with my SXT - You are right PA - it would be very nice to get a stock time to have something to compare it to. From what I remember of that track, there is a lot of sh#t boxes there - so I may have a chance at beating something!

attaboy...i admire your willingness. I have to be honest, running 14.2, in staging next to a car that is going to run 9.9 can be intimidating, until you realize...we aren't doing it for paychecks....mine has a 6 disc changer, nav system and video setup...even if he did...he couldn't hear it. My trunk can store groceries...his has nitrous, air shocks, gas cans bolted down, etc...

You'll do fine...and you'll have a base line. Plus...legal speeding is good for you...just don't slow down when you cross the trap...see if you can hit the limiter...

I'm upset that I'm going to be missing you guys - Cecil's where we usually run, too, since it's so close to us.

It will probably be what, 45 degrees down there tomorrow night so I don't think you guys will need to worry about cooling down the engines, lol. If it's this cool, I think 13's are definately going to be achievable by a 5.7L with some basic mods.

PaCharger

Wish you could go to Josh...would be very cool. I'll be sitting at the front door at 3pm waiting for that UPS man....grin.....I am going to be SOOOOO dissappointed if I cant get into the 13's. Brining another mopar buddy...1971 Dart Swinger that runs high 12's....The car is in Chicago right now...but he's run it at Cecil plenty of times.

Wish I could go, too. It's going to be a long weekend for me as I'm heading down late Friday night to Alabama with a bunch of other guys over at LXForums for the Hammer Fest and then coming back on Sunday. If I went Friday night... no, no, don't want to give myself any more crazy ideas. Plus, as cold as it is, my car won't hook up and all I do is spin. That takes the fun out of racing because I lose about a second to a second and a half in the quarter.

im gettin that 110 from edgemere tomorrow trying to burn the 93....or whatever that sunoco put in down to a quarter then the two or three gal. of juice. ill leave balto. with a little less than half about 45 miles to cecil at 17 mpg should be just right for two runs and home.asked the wife to drive the daytona just for giggles.....BIG mistake...guess that remote start meant nothing....how soon she forgot....yesterday! but she is letin me go so what the hay.....see ya

PaCharger
11-18-2005, 10:07 AM
Drove it down to almost Empty, put a 1/2 tank of 93 in with a bit of octane boost. I'll be at 1/4 tank when i get there.

Heading out to do the bumper pad turn, take the spare tire out, and....yes....wash the car even though it is only 37 degrees out. Warm water in bucket will be my only saving grace. I'll dry-chamois it in the garage, with the door closed. When my fingers thaw, i may try the zaino z1 and z2, if i have time.

I'll be headed out around 3:00-3:30 and be there when the gates open.

See Daytona SRT8(charles?), BT1024(brian), jcmeci(jim), mywhitecharger(anthony?), hartford r/t(charlie) at the track. Wear something warm....damn it's gonna be cold.

Well, wasnt bad actually, i was moving, so i was sweating. I put on a goretex glove, used warm water. Easy wash. Garage, door shut for cali blade and chamois. Dressed tires, cleaned windows, vacummed both pieces of grass i allowed to stay in the car for more than an hour...and done. No zaino today...maybe during the weekend.

man she looks good...and fast.

Yeah...we have them, and i've used the one there at Eastern and back river neck rd too, they do a good job. I don't want anyone touching this beast yet. I want her all to myself...

Got the RUbber bumper fix done, still not sure it'll work any better, but i'll see. Still have to take the tire outta the trunk....

A belated congratulations on the 13.70's run from a 5.7 Charger - one of the quickest runs I have seen for a lightly tweaked stocker. All those little tricks pay off when it comes to picking up the car. Just wait till next March when it's still cold and you have some more miles on the car - it will be even quicker.

I can't wait to make another road trip from Michigan next Spring for those great weather conditions to lay down some more good numbers. How about an early Spring gathering at Cecil or Maple Grove?

PaCharger

The Z's are hot little cars. A new favorite of mine is the rx8 as well. Man a rotary engine.....rpms limitless...imagine the potential.

D-Town, thanks....next time you are out, I'll be there. Pick your place, I live 30 mins from Maple and 45 from Cecil...so either way, I'm there. Hoping the motor break in has some positive effect, sure it will. I'm also sure that your 12.8's will drop as well. Any planned modifications?
