Hi I'm new to the group and I ordered a new 07 Charger SRT8 in Black with Option group 1 & 2 on 4/26. I currently own a 05 300C so when I say I bought the car sight unseen it's a relative term. I'm looking for information on what the truck of the car looks like. Is the amp and/or the sub in the trunk?

the kicker sub is in the left rear corner of the trunk-sub amp is mounted to the bottom of the rear deck and the 2nd amp is mounted under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. and the 322 watt amp under the dash is up gradable to the new 368 watt amp from chysler threw mopar super center.com for $179 +shipping and that alone makes a big difference-i just did that up grade for [moving man] and his system totaly rips butt now.

Thanks for the trunk info.

Is the amp under the dash easy to get at? Is the upgrade easy to do. For the $$ it sounds like a great upgrade.

its very easy to get to-and well worth it to up grade if you dont want to dump a ton of $$$$ in the system. you will be suprized at the sound of the kicker system stock-but with the new amp [WOW]

Sound Security-is the "thump" I get when I turn on my vehicle (or actually anything that activates the current like the alarm) normal? I just recently replaced the BA sub with the kicker sub option from Mopar Super Center. I even noticed the thump when I pushed my lock button twice on my transmitter when the horn honked. Other than that I think it sounds decent. Of course I was used to the Shaker 1000 in my 05 Mustang GT before I traded up for my 07 charger R/T.

Any assistance or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I saw some older threads regarding this "thump" topic but most of that was geared towards aftermarket "add-on" equipment.

What model number is that upgraded amp? I've got a daytona with sound group II and would love to do some upgrading if it made sense.

TO install a new amp with the gps, do you need an adapter or something for the RCA cables?

77kick04 and pretty much a plug and play. Today I got a good chance listening to it and comparing it with the previous sub that was built into the rear deck (BA). The original sound group 2 sounded decent but what this sub does is add some more punch and the cutoff is more defined between the mid range and lows. Hey its only 200 watts and before my charger I just bought I had the shaker 1000 system in my mustang gt. I did not want a lot of space taken in the trunk and this unit (which you may have seen on other posts) fits nicely in the left side fender well behind the wheel.

Hey there, quick question for you. Just picked up a Charger SRT and it says on the windows sticker that it comes with the Kicker 11 Speaker system. I found 6 speakers and the sub in the truck. To be honest, the system doesnt sound that great at all so I'm wondering if some of the speakers (or amp) have been blown. Can you tell me where all 11 speakers are supposed to be located. Thanks !

PS. the dealership lost the owners manual so until they get me a new one Im on my own... :)

I have the thump in the trunk too. It does it even when the key is not in the ignition. I checked the search option on here for Kicker Thump. Any suggestions what it is?

Well I'm just guessing here but often times if the speaker includes a woofer and a tweeter it counts as two right there. So you may have 5 speakers like that plus the subwoofer.........?

the thump that every one is hearing is from the sub amp powering down-it wont hurt any thing but it is annoying-its from the output caps in the amp dicharging when the amp is turned off-it needs a little redesigning [diode placement]

I have a Daytona R/T with navigation. This means I have atleast the boston Acoustic speakers right? Should I upgrade the amp to the new 368 watt amp? I don't think the stock system is all htat bad. I just wish the interior speakers were a little less bassy, and had more midrange.

Yes regarding the thump-I does not hurt anything but I also noticed it when key is not in ignition too. In fact it seems to be triggered sometimes when you open the door, and/or when the lights inside are turned on by opening the door. Just annoying but as everyone has said it does not hurt anything.

Couple of questions here for the heavies in the forum. First, if I upgrade to the new MOPAR 368 watt amp and replace the 276 up front, can I move that one to the back, and get rid of that sardine can powering the kicker ?

Secondly, maybe I'm missing something, but how the heck do you get at the rear speakers to replace them ? Taking the interior out of the trunk out only gets you access to the sub amp, (smallest amp I've ever seen by the way)the screws for the speakers seem to come in from the top. Don't tell me I need to take my rear seats out or something?

And lastly... any truth to the thread I read that if I do upgrade to the new 368 watt amp, I need an adapter to connect to the GPS ?

thanks in advance gents!

There is a photo on one of the threads-search for kick04 and I think you will find it.
