I am sure that some of you have aftermarket Sirius or XM radios in your chargers. I am interested to see some of the installations you guys have done, and in what places.
I am having a hell of a time finding the perfect place to mount my XM Roady XT in the charger. I DONT want to drill into the dash. I also want to stay away from suction cups. Its gotta look good, like it came with the car if you know what i mean.
I was pondering the idea of mounting it inside the overhead console sunglasses holder. This way, you can flip it UP when you arent using it, and drop it down smooth, and in style  It ALMOST fits in there, with some minor modifying of the sunglasses holder, it should fit like a glove. What do you think?

Have you had good luck with the Roady. My old roomate had it and it was horrible... I ended up installing an indash Alpine Sirius / Ipod ready unit in my firebird because of this.

Yeah, the roady XT has been very good to me. I use it every day at work in my truck, and move it to my charger on the weekends.
I havent had any real problems, other than gripes about a few of the menus. But it is the nicest looking, and smallest size XM I've seen for the price. What kind of problems did your roommate's unit have?

I have an aftermarket Sirius radio. I did look at that sunglass holder as a mounting point but it didn't fit well. I think there were some other issues but I can't recall them now.
I wound up using a mount that slips in between the edge of the radio faceplate and the dash. No drilling. The sirius sits slightly above the radio and to the right where I can easily see it. I ran the antenna wire from the roof mount through the trunk and alongside the passanger side before bringing towards the console. I also cut into the lighter wire behind the faceplate and put in another lighter plug where I plug the Sirius in. No visible plug wire and the original lighter plug is unused.
If you can get it in the sunglass holder it will of course be a lot more attractive and well hidden.

I mounted mine where the ash tray is just using a little peice of velcro and it has worked awesome for me. It tilts up at an angle for really easy viewing during driving. You should be able to see it ok in this picture

Can be done :)
Did a screen for a rearview camera in the sunglasholder.
Roady XT should fit in there to, it might need some modifications to do so.
Btw: try to use a line in to the radio, the FM modulator in the roady is not that good...

I bought one of these several months ago to add an XM tuner or cell phone mount. I haven't decided if I want to put it on or not yet but it's a nice option. It uses hidden tabs to mount to the console so if you don't like it later, you can take it off and go back to stock. It's made by Kuda. www.kudausa.com

The SkyFi3 would work perfectly with this mount.

It faded in and out and all the time and when it faded out the FM band came blaring thru...

Nice install of the Rearview! Thats definately sweet.
I always use the Line out of the roady, I did notice the difference in sound quality. The modulator definitely could use some work.
