The Dodge Brand Management group has asked us to help get your input if you own a Charger Daytona R/T or are interested in buying one in the future.
They created the current Daytona R/T and are evaluating where they go next for Charger. They’re also developing Daytona-like packages for other future cars. So understanding your answers to the following will help.
This is a 2 part poll, the other poll for people who have already purchased or ordered their Daytona R/T is located here:

Also, feel free to post any other comments/suggestions. Thanks for the help.

Well, you DID say anything:) A marketing idea, which I wouldnt normally propose, but since they already ticked off the hybrid owners, why not:)

There is no option for me to vote. I am interested in purchasing a new Charger R/T w/ the R&T package next year, but not necessarily a Daytona.

Hey JIM CAR - read the question again - it pertains to the DAYTONA ONLY. They are not asking about the R/T......

As I posted this in the General forum I'll put it here also...On 10/21/05 I ordered/money down, done deal for a Daytona R/T Top Banana VON#16580750. Was told then don't hold my breath, could be Dec,Jan, or Feb. No big deal since (four letter word) snow will be here soon and plan to store it until spring. Anyways, went by dealer today and he tells me, get this....only a 50/50 chance it will even be built. WHAT   They have a GoManGO on the floor. So if DODGE is really behind this poll.......oh yea need to keep it clean, never mind    :fuming: I better go..............

Hey all, this is my first post since joining the boards.
As for not being able to get $35,000 for the car used, doesn't the value of a car drop $1500 the second you touch the key's? But anyway, this car will be a collectable in time. Remember that there were only 4,000 made of Go Mango and as time goes on and if people don't beat on them and keep them as stock as possible, they WILL hold their value. A car drops in value every year until it reaches 10 years old.

........
A car drops in value every year until it reaches 10 years old.
Usually its more like the car drops 15%-25% the second you touch the keys, rather than some dollar amount. Poor Ford GT owners are loosing something like $50,000 the second they touch the keys for an even more limited car. Autoweek showed a cost of ownership of something like $90k the first year due to that :D
And not all cars drop every year. The Impala SS from Chevy from 94-96 dropped about $2000 from sticker in the first year or two, but any of them with reasonable mileage held at that for about the first 4-5 years. I remember looking at them in 98, and seeing 94s with 20-30k miles selling for $23k when their sticker had been 25k. With the Go ManGo Daytonas' being less than 6 months old at this point, any speculation of their values over any real length of time is pretty hard.
Not being able to get $35k for the car within a few months of buying it says nothing of depreciation, that would be a 5% loss for being the one who got to sniff all the new car smell out of it ;) Besides that, like anything else financial, it depends on the location too as far as how many people are interested at all in buying any given item. Next monday, look at how many people are lined up at your local Walmart or Best Buy or Circuit City to buy an Xbox 360. Supply and demand, thats what dictates price...

Two main reasons for not getting a Daytona - colors and decals. Others I know feel the same way.

ordered and paid down payment on daytona charger/top banana middle of october. i am in week 6 of my so called "6-8 week window". has anybody seen a top banana 06 daytona on the road yet? should i not expect it until jan/feb?
does anybody know of any snow conditions test for the daytona? i live in the northeast and am kinda worried about the winter... (but by the sounds of it, i wont have it anyway).
also, has anybody heard of dodge announcing a new four-wheel drive charger for the "snow belt states"???

I would like to order a new Charger R/T to go with the 2 muscle cars I bought new in 68 and 71. The difference now is that I would like to be able to order the car the way that I want it and not take a package that someone else has decided they want me to buy. I want a 6.1 hemi in an SRT8, but I do not like the colours available and this will probably stop me altogether unless
there is a change in heart or philosophy at Chrysler.

love my RT more than any other car i've owned.
Please don't change a thing. especially making a two door.
Kind of kiddy like, I love the four door look and versatility.
Let me tell ya my car stops traffic still and the thumbs ups are everywhere I go.
great job, it's THE car !

I purchased a Daytona about a month ago, and so for I love it. I did own a 2003 Mustang GT and I feel I still have the power but with more room for my kids to ride with me and the wife. I'm considering changing the audio system although its sounds pretty good it is a little bassy. I've also considered changing the rims, to individualize mine 2766 of 4000...

Hope you enjoy the ride mikemike. Not sure which radio you have but the REC was too muddy for my taste. I immediately lowered the base settings from the default. It does improve it a lot.
Is that anything like dougdoug? ;)

I want the Daytona R/T, but I want to factory order, but don't want Top Bannana.
So, I hope there are some other colors on the way, or a repeat of Go Mango! for '07
I could also care less about the "limited production" exclusivity. Best situation from my perspective woul be to have a Daytona R/T with its own multiple color options offered, just like there is the SRT with the (sadly limited) red, silver and black options.
Look at the new Mustang. They offer that retro "Legend Lime", and have a yellow, and that "Windveil Blue" looks pretty retro too. And they offer them year-round.
Some will go for the bling, some won't. Why not make'em all happy.

I say that they should make a Daytona with a special Kasey Kahne edition like Chevy did with the Earnhardt Monte Carlos. Throw a couple tasteful "9" emblems on it and mayba a couple tasteful special things like embroidered signature on the leather head rest. Make it super limited like 500 or so. Chevy did a great job with a Sr. and Jr. edition and they are collectable with a signed photo of the car with the racer on it. Framable even :)
I'd love to see it.

i was in search of a large family car with more power than my 04 impala. when i heard chevy came out with a v8 for 06, i immediately started looking at the Monte Carlo SS because i used to believe that hot rods/sports car should only have 2 doors. at the time, i have seen a few chargers on the road and thought they were nice, but smaller than the impala, therefore, not interested. when my co-workers came to work in his new Charger and parked it next to my Impala, i noticed they were about the same size. That night,i spoke to wife about it and she suggest we go to the dodge dealership and take a look. after she saw the torred, she was set on that car. i convinced her to take a look at the chevy dealer for the monte carlo. there, the salesman more or less brushed us off. the next day, we went back to the dodge dealer, test drive the torred and brought it home. even tho the torred was approx. $6,000 more than the Monte Carlo, we beleived we made the right choice. I know i am happier with the torred than i would have with the SS. My hat's off to dodge for being able change our perception that a 4dr family can be a hot rod too.

Bought the #218 Mango Daytona and was rightfully depressed when I heard there were going to be 4000 banana / 2000 tored / ???? sublime / ????plum crazy.....When will the madness stop? There only a few colors in the rainbow left and by the looks of things by the end of '08 the Daytona will have more colors than the regular production series....JMO
Anyway, traded for the Bee. Hopefully they only produce 1000. If they start that SHAT with the Bee.....well kind of reminding me of the mustang. May as well jump fence and go buy a beamer....lol

Just bought #48 of 200 here in Canada. I love this car. Very fun to drive. Decent at the pumps too. MDS is OK by me.
SRT8 must be a guzzler, but worth it?

The Daytona is a fun car, but personally I would not spend the extra money to have one. I do plan to buy a 2008 Road/Track Group car next summer, which is essentially the same thing as a Daytona without the graphics and wild paint scheme.
