does it bother anyone else that a lot of races that used to be afternoon races are getting their start times pushed back later and later so they can finish under the lights? this trend has been going on across all 3 series.

personally, i liked the nice afternoon races that allowed me an opportunity to do something different with my night.

(yes i know a lot of truck races are friday night races, but there's some that were run during the day that will now finish at night)

I have season tickets to Richmond and I love the night races they have but I wish, like they use to have, one during the day and the other at night. races have a different look and feel day and night. and I enjoy going to both. I am not a fan of the Daytona 500 finishing under the lights like it did this year.

yeah thats exactly what im talking about!

the coke 600 was really neat because it was the only race on the circuit that started during the day and ended at night. now with places like daytona, california, and a couple others gradually moving day races to night, the night races are losing that little thing that made them special.

also, at richmond, both races are night so its cool. but daytona has one dedicated night race already, there's no reason to make the 500 a night race too.

i hate it! doesn't make any sense at all to me....i understand they are trying to pick up viewership in the west but they are doing exactly what you said above - they are taking away that thrill of the real night races.

CC, where are your seats? My family has season tickets, too. We had seats in turn 1, but we got the opportunity to upgrade to the new tower section that is being built.

Maybe we'll see ya there this year.

Also, where do you park? We have permanent reservations in a lady's front yard a couple of blocks from the track...as long as we call and tell her that we are coming. If you need a parking place, let me know and I'll see if she'll reserve a spot for ya. If I remember correctly, she charges $30 for the entire weekend. And she keeps a good watch over your car, too.

I have lived my whole life just 20 minutes from Bristol Speedway and haven't been to a race (other than the street fights) in 29 yrs. (I'm 51)..
